- @BabyMiaElise is 9 months old already!! 😱😭 It’s been the BEST 9 months of my life - hard but incredible! My priorities have changed a lot since having Mia. I’m sure I’m not alone here, but I have struggled at times to balance the mum/work life and I’ve had many times when I lost myself a little and felt unmotivated to do anything that took me away from Mia. I felt guilty for being away from her when I was working or exercising etc. I think it’s a new mum thing? 😛 I’ve realised that while your children will always be the priority, it’s important and healthy to do things for you without feeling guilty about it. I know life has it’s ups and downs and it’s all about making the most of it and appreciating what you’ve got etc. but I feel like I’ve figured the balance thing out - for now anyway! I’m ok with my never ending to-do list and I’ve accepted that I’ll probably never see the bottom of the laundry basket ever again. 😝🙈 It is about progress not perfection after all right?! 😂 . #9MonthsOld #BabyMiaElise

- I can’t believe it’s been almost 9 months since I have birth! 😱 Thank you for being such a great support network to me, you’re all amazing and you’ve helped me so much along my journey. Getting my fitness back after pregnancy has been a struggle and I’ve had to work hard and be consistent but I’m getting there! 😊 . Some people seem to enjoy seeing others struggle - I guess it reminds them that they’re not alone and makes them feel better about their own struggles or shortcomings. . What I find disappointing is when people end up coming out the other end and start doing well some people seem to get threatened. Maybe seeing others succeed makes them feel like a failure or inadequate? I’m not exactly sure, but I do believe we all need to stop seeing other people’s success as a threat. Their success does not take anything away from you! We also need to stop seeing others as “competitors” - it’s not a competition (unless you are literally competing in a sport haha 😝). . Be positive and congratulate people on their achievements and try to use their success as inspiration for you to go for the things you want in life. No matter how much you might dislike someone, make excuses or try to bring others down it doesn’t change a thing for you. Invest your time and energy into something positive that actually helps you. 👍🏼 ...Oh and be kind ALWAYS - you don’t know what someone has been through to get to where they are now! 😉 . . #postpartumjourney

- Strong Mumma! 💪🏼😃 Slowly but surely I'm starting to put on the muscle that I lost during pregnancy and after birth. I've been training for a number of months now but I've only just recently started to really feel strong. It was almost like something just ticked over and I was like "Oh I'm starting to really feel strong again!". Mind you, I've been working at it for a number of months now so I was bound to get my strength back at some stage. If you’ve got a goal you’re working towards, you most certainly can achieve it with hard work & consistency - just don’t give up! 😉 . #8.5monthspostpartum #fitmum

- I’ve been really proud of my progress so far, I’m getting stronger, fitter and leaner. My tummy has been the hardest part though... It’s taken me over 8 months to get my core strength close to what it was before I got pregnant. Up until recently it has felt like my belly was pushing “out” (like it had a mind of it’s own haha 😝). It was really hard to keep it “in”. While you’re pregnant your abs are stretched out quite a lot and they get used to being that way (your organs also move around), so when you have your baby they don’t just snap back in. It takes deliberate effort every day to get them back to “normal”. I managed to close my 3 finger width ab separation pretty quickly because I worked on closing the gap from the day after I gave birth. The main things that helped was being conscious of my posture while standing and walking around and working on activating my deep core muscles and pelvic floor. I focused on standing tall, having shoulders back, stomach tight, pelvic floor “on” and gluts slightly squeezed and “active” while walking. A lot of people have not only a weak core but weak gluts too so it’s about training those muscles to fire properly so your muscles are balanced. Having good posture is so important and it’s something I think everyone should be conscious of. There’s not much point doing ab specific exercises if you don’t fix your posture first (and of course any ab separation you may have). 😊 Do any of you remember getting told to stand up straight and to pull your shoulder back when you were a kid? They were onto something! 😉👍🏼 . #8.5monthspostpartum

- Spot the difference? You got it - I updated my phone & moved house! 😝 . I wanted to show almost the exact stance/pose that I showed in my 6 week postpartum video. Both videos show me relaxed with belly “out” then flexing. 💪🏼 . When I first found out I was pregnant I decided I was going to be transparent throughout my whole pregnancy & post pregnancy journey no matter what happened. I didn’t want to sugar coat or filter anything & just wanted to show it how it is. Even though I tried not to have any expectations of how pregnancy, birth & post pregnancy would be I still had my idea of how I’d like things to be (I couldn’t help it 🙈). I am extremely blessed to have Mia, she’s my whole world & I love her more than anything. 💗 . During my pregnancy I gained more fat than I thought I would. I also had pretty bad morning (all day & night) sickness 😝 & back pain to the point I could barely stand. Because of these things I wasn’t able to exercise much in the last trimester. Labour was quite traumatic but I got thought it & all that matters is Mia is healthy. ☺️ A few days after Mia was born I got pretty severe post baby blues which I did not expect but I’m grateful it only lasted a few weeks. Then there was sleep deprivation, more back pain, breastfeeding pain, mastitis & crazy hormones - Most of you Mum’s out there know what I’m talking about. 😝 My body didn’t snap back as quick as I thought it would. I got pretty sick a few times this year, badly sprained my ankle & broke my toe 🙈 - yeah I’m very clumsy! 🙄 At 6 weeks postpartum I started doing my FIT APP & did the home workouts. I tried to be as consistent as I could & pushed myself while still listening to my body & resting when necessary! - I’d put Mia to bed or put her in the swing while I did my workout even if it was after midnight. It was hard but I truly felt better for it. Exercising gives me more energy to take care of Mia & it makes me so much happier & the best mother I can be. . You can do anything you set your mind to - as long as you put it into action & be consistent. 👊🏼😉 . .

- Apparently this is meant to be worn without the skirt underneath? 🤔 I tried it and it’s a little too um... cheeky for me! (Literally) 🤣🙈 . I’ve been trying to find some outfits for some upcoming events and I do love the feminine but edgy vibes of this outfit. Would you wear something like this? It’s a really different look for me - being out of my trackies with my hair out of the “mum bun” & mats brushed out & all! 😂 So what’s the verdict? Yes or no? Help! 🙏🏼😬 . .

- People said things like: “Your body is ruined now” “You’ll never be the same” “Let’s see what happens to your body once you have a baby” “You’ll bounce back” Bla bla bla. . People always have something to say and there will always be naysayers so you should stop listening to them. I’m happy, I feel great, and I’m getting fitter and stronger every day. . I’m absolutely blown away by my body because it grew a human and is still making food for that human. 🙌🏼😃 . Guess what else! I actually love my body more than ever now (so does @recdedmond 😜) and I’ve never felt more confident. . Love yourself no matter what, choose to be your best and never doubt yourself - you most certainly can look and feel amazing whether you’ve had a baby or not! 😘 . . #8monthspostpartum

- My little munchkin @babymiaelise and I got a bit of sun today in between packing to move house. I managed to get in a home workout from my FIT APP too! 😃 It’s funny, I’m so excited to get into the new place but I feel a little sad about leaving this house because of the precious moments we’ve had here. I was pregnant with Mia in this house & I have so many memories here. I remember feeling like a whale (full term) floating around the pool to relieve my back pain while humming to Mia in my belly & eating tubs of ice cream in front of the tv like a sloth. 🤣 I remember dancing in the lounge room trying to induce labour and then bringing Mia home for the first time... and showing Mia the swans that would come up to our back fence to say hello!... Aaah I’m so sentimental, sensitive and emotional these days - must be a mum thing I’m assuming? 🙈 I’ll always cherish the memories in this house (and the millions of videos and photos 😂). Now for the next chapter of our lives! I’m excited to create many new memories in our new house! 😊 Home really is where the heart is - and my heart is with my family. - Oh I’m so corny! 😝🙈 . #7monthspostpartum .

- 7.5 months postpartum . I been getting a fair few comments from women saying that I got back into shape too fast after giving birth to Mia. It’s not the case, it’s been 7.5 months and while I’m happy with myself, I am nowhere near as fit, strong or lean as I used to be and I didn’t “bounce back”. Being a fitness professional doesn’t automatically make it easier than others to get back in shape - yes I know how to do it but it still takes hard, consistent work. . I just want you to know that it does take a while for most people. Even though I’d been exercising for about a decade before falling pregnant it has still been tough for me to get my fitness back. I’m getting stronger all the time though! 😊 Over the past few weeks I’ve really noticed a big difference in my core stretch and upper body strength. I’m able to do 20 full push-ups in a row whereas a few weeks ago I couldn’t even do 1 properly! It feels so good getting strong again. I feel on top of the world! 😃🙌🏼 I’m happy with how my body is looking right now too and my goals are to gain muscle, get stronger and work on my explosive strength like sprinting and box jumps. 👊🏼 Remember to be patient while working on your goals. It takes time and dedication, but you can do it! 😉😘 . .

- If only I could coordinate my life as well as our outfits! 🙈😂 We’re back from the U.S! I’m so grateful to be able to take my family with me on my trips. It would be so hard being away from them. After having Mia life has become a lot busier and more complicated but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Mia is of course my priority but it’s important to me that I continue working on my dreams and goals. Having children doesn’t mean you have to give up these things - except you may need to give up sleep for a while haha! 😆Apparently that gets better though?! 🙈 Some people seem to think that doing things that make you happy and investing time into yourself is selfish but it’s not! When you’re happy your family is happier and I don’t believe you can make others happy if you’re not happy yourself. ❤️☺️ .
- We’ve arrived at LAX & are currently waiting for our connecting flight to NYC! I’m so glad my hair and makeup has stayed fresh the whole flight from Australia! 😂 Just joking, this pic is from something I was shooting the other day! I’m the opposite to this right now. 😝 . I’m so excited to meet everyone at the @GoodAmerican event on August 2nd at 9am at @six02 in Time Square 1460 Broadway - Entry on a first come first serve basis (limited spaces available) 😃 . .

- I spent most of my life trying to get people to like me and desperately wanted to fit in. If someone disliked me I’d obsess over trying to work out why and thought there was something wrong with me and it was my fault. I thought that if people accepted me and liked me that would translate into self acceptance and self worth but it does the opposite. It took me a long time to learn that you simply can’t please everyone and not everyone is going to like you. I stopped trying to change myself in attempt to fit in and started embracing who I am. Yeah I’m annoying sometimes, ok maybe a lot of the time 🙊 but I know that my intentions aren’t ever to hurt people - quite the opposite and I’m proud of that quality. I now spend my time with people who actually like me - the real me and love me despite all of my annoying traits. 😂 It’s no longer about “fitting in” or about trying to convince people I’m worthy of love and acceptance. I am worthy - I know that now, although sometimes I forget momentarily but it’s something I’m constantly working on. This is my biggest achievement in life (besides Mia of course). Finally I love and accept myself. What I think of myself is what matters most. 🙏🏼 Beautiful people, please don’t EVER try to change yourself in order to fit in. Be 100% you and work on loving and accepting yourself. You can only truly belong when you are the real you. #selflove #selfacceptance

- LEFT: 1 month postpartum - RIGHT: 7months postpartum. . . No matter what your fitness goal is know that it takes time!! Don’t expect changes straight away, that will only set you up for disappointment which can be very demotivating. Focus on being consistent and before you know it you’ll start feeling and seeing changes. . I’ve gotta be honest with you though, I did have some moments when I was being impatient & would whinge to Declan because I wasn’t “bouncing back”. - It takes commitment, time and PATIENCE! Haha! 😝🙈 . It’s hard not to feel disheartened when others seem to get results fast. - This is exactly why we shouldn’t compare ourselves to others! We’re all different so don’t compare your journey to me or anyone else. Remember, I started working out 9 years ago so I have muscle that has taken me years to build and muscle memory. . I’m nowhere near as fit as I was pre-baby and I do want to get fitter and build more muscle but again, that will take time. I just want to feel good, and be healthy so I can be the best I can be without putting pressure on myself. I love my body right now and will keep working to get fitter and stronger. 💪🏼 . . Also, I don’t spend hours in the gym and I don’t train every day. I do my own workouts from my FIT APP and mainly follow the home workouts - they’re efficient and effective which is what I need since I’m busier than ever now. 😝 I also follow the meals in my program most of the time - they’re delicious, keep me full and aren’t hard to make (I’m not good in the kitchen - just ask Declan!! 😂) . Don’t forget, no matter what your goal is it’s important to love yourself along the way and be kind to yourself. 🙏🏼💗 . . #7monthspostpartum

- I’m incredibly excited to announce I’m a part of the @goodamerican Good Squad! It went from finding a pair of jeans that actually fit me properly and were comfortable enough to squat and sleep in to flying to LA a few months ago to become a part of the Good Squad! 😃 From the moment I walked in I was welcomed with open arms and I truly felt I belonged there. 🤗 It’s such an honour to be a part of a company that loves and celebrates every woman! 🙌🏼 💗 Thank you @khloekardashian and @emmagrede 🙏🏼 . .

- #7MonthsPostpartum . You know what I love! When people choose to uplift other people around them. Despite their insecurities or where they’re currently at in their lives they choose to show kindness and support others. It doesn’t cost a cent and it doesn’t take anything away from you, in fact I believe it adds to you and makes you a better and happier person. 😃🙌🏼 Show to others what you want to be shown. This is why I love all of you so much, you’re a huge community of awesome women and men who are kind and supportive toward each other. You uplift each other and show love. I believe it’s a choice to be that person and all of you choose that every day. How blessed am I to be surrounded by so many amazing people! I appreciate you all. 🙏🏼💜 . Thank you for supporting me throughout my journey, especially throughout my pregnancy and now as a new mum while working my way back to being fit. I’m getting fitter every day, I’m feeling great and I’m loving following my FIT APP 📲 - It makes it so much easier and more enjoyable especially having our awesome FIT forum full of our amazing, supportive members! 😃 Having support makes a world of difference, especially when you’re trying to reach your fitness goals. 💗 I hope your week is going as well as mine. 😘 . . P.S. Can you believe it’s winter here in Australia?! 😃☀️🙌🏼 . .

- I almost fell in the pool - the pool ledge is too high for me! 🙈😆 I guess we can’t all have long legs like @lauradundovic 😝 . Grab a friend and try this partner workout you can do just about anywhere! . The exercises in this workout are: . 1. Step Ups 2. Air Squats 3. Partner Bicycle Crunch (this can be a bit tricky) 4. Plank Claps 5. Lying ankle taps / Mountain climbers . Perform 30 seconds of each exercise with 10 seconds rest in between exercises. Rest for 60 secs when you complete all the exercises. Complete the circuit 5 times and don't forget to have fun with it! 😃👍🏼 . . #emilyskye #fit #fitness #fitfam #6monthspostpartum

- Since becoming pregnant and having Mia my physique has changed in many ways. My shape and composition is different but I love my body and my new shape. 💗 . I’ve been doing my FIT Program since I had the all clear from my Doc at 6 weeks postpartum and I’m getting stronger and feeling great. I’m really happy with my progress. 😃 . As I’ve said many times, the way I feel is most important to me and that’s one of the main reasons I exercise and eat healthy food... but being happy with my physique also feels good! 😉😃 There are SO many benefits to living a healthy and active lifestyle! 🙌🏼 . #6monthspostpartum .

- I did NOT wake up like this! 😂 I made an effort to look “nice” by evicting the birds that were living in my hair, brushed out the mats and actually washed it, applied some makeup and put a decent outfit together lol. 😆 Sorry birds you’ve gotta find a new home now! 💁‍♀️ . Don’t get me wrong, I love myself like this or when I’m in my tracky dacks with mats in my hair ...but it does feel good to get done up every now and then... ESPECIALLY now that I’m a mum and most of my time is spent being devoted to Mia and work. . I believe it’s important to do something nice for yourself every so often. There’s not usually much time to do so but if I make the time I feel so much better and can my tackle day-to-day life so much better! It’s amazing how much having mat free hair and applying some makeup can make me feel. 🙌🏼😆 . Do something for yourself every now and then, even if it’s just having a bath, meditating or doing a face mask. We all deserve some love. 💗🤗 . . @emilyskyebeauty 💄🎨 . .

- 💋 I forgot I was wearing red lipstick haha! 😂 I can’t stop kissing @babyMiaElise’s little chubby cheeks. 👶🏼 Does anyone else get “cute aggression”? I just love Mia SO much and think she’s sooo cute that I clench my teeth and have to resist biting her. 😂 Please tell me I’m not the only one or am I just weird?! Haha! 🙈 . Being a mummy is the BEST! It’s changed me in many ways and my priorities are now a little different. Being healthy and fit is still a top priority for me but now I don’t just do it for me, I do it for Mia so I can be my ABSOLUTE best for her. 💗 Plus I need to be able to run around after her soon! If she’s anything like her parents she’s going to be hyper active and nutty! Haha. 😆 . . #6monthsold #6monthspostpartum

- Can you tell I like red?❤️😆 I’ve been clearing out my wardrobe and it’s taking weeks to do because I’ve only had time to work on it a bit at a time (and it’s a BIG job). 🙈 I’ve had a lot of meetings and events to go to lately so I’ve been trying to get more outfits together and it’s been fun! It’s an excuse to get new clothes too! 😝 I’m feeling a lot fitter and more energetic thanks to my FIT Program. 😃 Looking good is great and all but it’s the way it makes me feel that I like the most. 🙌🏼 How are you ladies who are trialing my new FIT APP going? Are you enjoying the workouts and meals? 😃 . #6monthspostpartum . .

- I love my post baby body more than my pre-baby body! 😃 . I’m 6 months postpartum & it’s been 4.5 months since I started following my FIT Program. . Not only do I love and respect my body for growing my baby Mia but I love how it looks. I’ve never felt more confident in myself. It’s a great feeling! . As I’ve spoken about before I’ve had a few set backs along my postpartum journey so far. I got sick a couple of times, badly rolled my ankle & broke my toe but these things happen - that’s just life. I’m really proud of myself and the progress I’m making. I’ve worked really hard during my workouts and I’ve stuck to eating healthy meals while still having treats every week. I feel like I’m pretty close to my pre-baby body apart from having less muscle - which I’m working on hehe! 💪🏼😁 . The biggest thing I notice apart from having more energy and feeling happier is being able to run up and down the stairs again haha! - Yep it really is the little things! 😝 . . #emilyskye #6monthspostpartum

- I played dress ups tonight! 😝I bought this dress online a few months ago and when I first tried it on I didn’t fit in it properly and I definitely didn’t feel comfortable or confident in it. Tonight I put it on for date night with Dec and at first I hesitated and thought I couldn’t wear it. I don’t know why, I guess I’m just used to wearing daggy clothes and fitness gear a lot lately. #mumlife 😝 I was about to take off the dress & and put one of my go-to “safe” outfits on like my jeans and a T-shirt but Dec stopped me and said “wear it Em, you’ve worked hard and look amazing in it!” So I thought why not and wore it! 😃 . I’ve been really good with sticking to the meals in my FIT Program and doing the workouts when I can. It’s been challenging with all the travel and getting sick but I do my best and always put 100% into my workouts and it’s paying off! I’m so proud of myself! 😃 . If you’ve been working on yourself then make sure you’re proud of your progress and the hard work you’ve put in - even if you’re nowhere near where you want to be yet. And if there’s an outfit you like then don’t hesitate to wear it and wear it with confidence! 👊🏼😉 . .

- Happy Monday/Tuesday everyone! I’ve been quiet on here because I’ve been really sick with a tummy bug but I’m on the mend now and I’m so excited to get back into my FIT Program. Being bed ridden has really made me appreciate my health (when I am healthy haha!) 😂 . I had to do a photoshoot today and while it was the last thing I felt like doing it got me out of bed and into the afternoon sun with @BabyMiaElise and it was just what I needed. ☀️👶🏼 . I try take something positive from every situation, even the not so pleasant ones and being sick has reminded me not to take my health for granted and to make the most of it. 🤗 Super fit and healthy Em is coming soon! 😃 Who’s ready to become their fittest and healthiest with me? 🙌🏼 . . ❣️Trial my FIT Program for 7 days for FREE👆🏼 Link in my profile! 😉 . . #5MonthsPostpartum

- 🍯🎈Who else loves Winnie the Pooh? 😝 Uncle Sam gave Mia and me these cute matching Pooh PJs!😍 They’re perfect for snuggling on a cold winter’s night... ok it’s not that cold here but it’s always the perfect season for snuggling! 😃🙌🏼 . No matter how busy or stressful life gets I always feel so calm and happy when Mia is in my arms. I couldn’t imagine my life without her now. I’m really trying to soak up our time together while she’s young because she’s changing and growing so quickly. 😭 Each stage is so special and exciting but it makes me a little sad knowing she’ll never again be as little as she is right now. It does remind me to stop and really appreciate these precious moments with her though. 💗 I’m so blessed. 🙏🏼 . #5MonthsOld #BabyMiaElise
