- GoPro Surf Photography Basics | I had some people PM me about tips on the basics of GoPro surf photography so I figured I’d share it here for everyone | 1: Equipment - First thing you’ll want to do is get a pole or handle for your GoPro that floats preferably with a leash in case it slips out of your hand and a pair of Swim Fins to make treading water easier /// 2: Camera Settings - First you’ll want to turn Protune On ... then under Protune my go to settings are (ISO Min and Max 200, EV -.5, WB Auto, Sharpness Low, GoPro Color /// 3: Burst settings - I recommend shooting photo burst mode whenever photographing action in or out of the water ... I’d start with 30/3 second burst and then as your timing gets better you can move to faster frame rates like 30/2 or 30/1 /// 4: Avoiding water spots - The way you avoid waterspots is by licking or spitting on the lens and then dipping the camera in the water just before firing the camera /// 5: Positioning the camera - it’s best to have the camera tilted back to make sure you capture the lip of the wave /// 6: Post processing - @adobe offers a great free editing tool called Photoshop Express available for download in the App Store ... for deeper levels of post work Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are the industry standards /// if there’s any other questions let me know 🤙🏼 #GoPro

- I just want to say you guys are always welcome to message me questions about cameras, applications, post processing, etc as I’ve answered thousands and thousands of people over the years and I enjoy supporting you ... but please stop messaging me about GoPro’s stock ... I don’t own GoPro stock, I’m not a broker, and I have nothing to do with that. I’m a creator ... and from that aspect nothing has changed for me over the years except that the GoPro has gotten more powerful. The GoPro camera opened the world of photography up to me and countless others who fell in love with capturing life because of that little powerhouse of a camera that was actually affordable. And still for the price of a nice sushi dinner with friends you can get a waterproof camera that can capture media at high enough quality that it can be used in professional environments. With that camera I’ve shot photos and video that have appeared on everything from magazine covers ... to walls in Fortune 500 companies ... to video showed on every channel under the Discovery umbrella ... to MTV ... major networks ... etc ... and that’s all that matters to me 🤙🏼 and one last thing ... if you’re someone who got into photography because of the GoPro camera and now you talk trash on it because you bought something more expensive ... you’re a joke ❤️ #GoPro
