- So, going to just share this information quickly then process. Moo's tumor was cancerous (mast cell). Due to its location it was not able to be completely removed. It is on the bone, connective tissue, and surrounding areas. His Vet, Dr. Jodi @eugene.animal.hospital, is AMAZING and will be taking great care of our boy. Worst case will be amputation of the leg but *hopefully* that is a ways off. We are going to heal up from surgery first then move onto the next step. He's totally happy and feeling good though so I am going to follow his lead. Love you guys, thank you for everything always. I will update as we go. It's been a rough few months but we got this πŸ’œπŸ’ͺ #rescuefamily

- Hanging with the babies. 🐾 The dogs all seem to be getting back to normal. Moo took the longest but some extra love and attention helped him through. He will be having surgery this Thursday to remove a non cancerous lipoma from his front paw. Keeping him down (and out of the pool) should be *fun* 😏. The babies are doing good. Much healthier and less work than the last few batches of fosters have been so it's kind of nice. A little break and distraction without being too overwhelming. I'm still struggling a bit but I am confident it will get easier every day. Thank you all so very much for your continued love and support ❀ #adoptrescuefoster #rescuefamily @nwdogproject

- I woke up this morning, thinking of Lucky of course, but instead of feeling sad I had a little smile. It's been more than hard losing him but I am so very grateful for all the years we had together. When we moved here to Oregon he wasn't doing so well. On the drive up I told him bud you gotta come around because we bought you a farm! Who knew he'd go on to live another 3 years? Amazing. He was always such a proud, stubborn guy so we had to make the impossible decision for him to leave this world for him. His body was shutting down, awful things were happening, and I know he would have wanted to go out "with his boots on" so that's what we did. He was on his bed, on the front porch with his beautiful view, surrounded by the whole family. It was as peaceful as it could have possibly ever been, a gorgeous day with a gentle breeze - like heaven was welcoming him. The first few days after were understandably difficult but I feel like we may be turning a corner now. I think of him today with love in my heart and I know for sure that he will never be forgotten. The outpouring of kindness from you all has been mind blowing. I am incredibly humbled by the amount of love we have been shown. I am so thankful that I was somehow able to capture his spirit and share it with all of you. Thank you will never be enough. You have helped me heal more than you could ever know. ❀️ I chose this video to post today because I think it shows his impatient, demanding, hungry, funny, joyous personality the best. He always made me laugh and I will continue to do so; saving pups, living life to the fullest possible, keeping my chin up, and sharing it with all of you in his honor. I love you guys, and I love how you love. Your pups, our pups, each other. The world needs more of it. I am grateful every day for this community we have created. Please continue to adopt, rescue, foster, donate, spay, and neuter so we can insure all dogs get to live a life like Lucky πŸ€πŸ“ #rescuefamily #GIVEMEDACAKENOWWOMAN #NOTachocolatecake πŸ™ˆ

- Don't worry this is not "the" post, exactly. Those who follow our stories may be aware that we almost lost our Lucky yesterday. I was away from home supporting the @bissellpets foundation when he started to shut down. My husband called me at 4 am, so upset, to tell me that Luck had stopped eating and drinking, wouldn't come inside the house, couldn't walk, along with some other scary symptoms. I immediately packed my bags and with the support of the amazing @cathy_bissell, began my journey home without attending the event. I got him the medical attention he needed and my family was working hard to keep him comfortable while I was trying to get to him. It ended up being an absolute travel nightmare - a total of 21 hours to get home. It wasn't something I thought I'd ever share but it was real life and I was alone and scared. You all came through in incredible ways though and your words were so comforting, thank you. You seriously held me together. I finally made it home and it was rough. I slept on the kitchen floor next to him and loved him all night. So, today. Here's the deal. He is 15 1/2 years old and his body is shutting down. As much as it breaks my heart to say, this is not something he will get better from. All we can do now is make him comfortable and happy. The good news is with the arrival home of mom he has started eating and drinking again, and an increase in his pain meds is helping him to move around a little better. This afternoon I carried him down the hill to check on his strawberry patch. When he saw where we were going he started a wobbly walk on his own towards it. I know it sounds crazy, but this season we've had maybe 10 strawberries total. Today there were the most I've ever seen - it was so special. I let him eat a bunch and then made him a filet mignon for dinner. This is all really hard and in my head I thought I'd just let everyone know after the fact so that you didn't have to endure this emotional journey. But, although most of us are technically strangers, you all feel like our family. You have grown to love this old guy too and I am just going to follow my heart and share what I can, for however long that may be. Love you all ❀️

- New baby Chi's coming this week! Dooders is going to lose her mind 😍 Repost @nwdogproject - New bebe’s on their way!!! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• Some irresponsible humans failed to have their dog spayed, so an accidental liter was and had these β€œunwanted” pups were shelter bound. We couldn’t let that happen, so without hesitation we welcomed them into the NWDP pack where we will get them fixed and into the responsible, loving homes they deserve! And thanks to @loveleorescue spay and neuter program down in LA, mom dog will be getting spayed at their next clinic! πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ Thank you @luckydelilah for taking care of these guys until they could head up to us! The pups will be hanging with staff member @graceannahale for a few days and then joining the @roofusandkilo pack!!! πŸ€— Stay tuned for some serious cuteness coming your way!! And friends, PLEASE remember to SPAY and NEUTER your pets. Millions of β€œunwanted” animals are euthanized in the shelters every year. You can help make a difference by educating folks on the importance of spay and neuter, donating to and/or volunteering with one of the many amazing spay and neuter programs out there and when you’re ready to add a new 4-legged buddy to your family please choose to #adoptnotshop. πŸ™πŸ½ #rescuepuppies #fosteringsaveslives #dogrescue #adoptdontshop #spayandneuter
