- Is Saturday too late to post a #flowercrownfriday ? My excuse is that I wore it on Friday and into the early hours of this morning. Performing as part of the old-timey American roots music trio ‘Rose and Thorns’, I now have the perfect excuse to make and wear a flower crown. This one looked very pretty with my blue print dress, jean jacket and cowboy boots. Even better was the lovely wafts of daphne, rosemary and mint. I mused on stories about the rosemary wondering if it might help me remember all my lyrics and chord sequences ... nothing forgotten and no veg was thrown; so perhaps this is an essential part of my gig kit! All I need now is something that curbs my enthusiasm a little to help me keep to the tempo and not speed up; or the chaps have threatened to re name the band ‘Mrs Gonzalez’ after Speedy! What’s your excuse for a flower crown day? Go and check out @martinandthemagpie his are fab!

- Love of nature. Love for all the new beautiful things in the garden on such a grey day. Love for the faded beauties, dried, dead, but still glorious and part of life. Most of all today gratitude for the people who are kind, gentle and present in my life. Love too for the things that bring me joy.... arranging flowers, singing and playing music. And a question ... on the blue background or the green ... I couldn’t decide, or work out how to rotate the green one which I shot the wrong way 😬🤔

- What’s in your flowery Friday? These two are ready to swim into the weekend. Chrysanthemums from my local flower farmer and repurposed snippets from the Christmas wreath made @therealflowerco workshop. Was going to compost ... but the hips especially are just too pretty to waste. I have been collecting swan vases for a while but haven’t used one for ages. The feathery chrysanthemums just seemed to be calling out to them. What do you like to put in your swans? #letyourswansout #floweryourswans Give then their moment and share!

- Still life ... a quiet start to Saturday. Maybe it’s not prevarication. Maybe I need to make space for quiet reflection, to make space for calm, to make space for nature. Little splashes of orange fire and warmth from @sebastianconrad and a treasured little rock, a gift from Katie Davis @ponderosa_and_thyme reminding me of the wonderful day I spent meditating, learning, creating and sharing time with lovely creative people. #ponderosaworkshop #underthefloralspell #lovelydeadcrap #aquietstyle_simplicity #petalsandprops #flowermeditation #momentsofmine #inspiredbypetals

- Deep concentration ... hands full of such beautiful flowers in a calm, peaceful space whilst in the street below Columbia Road market was throbbing with life. Lesley’s beautiful photo captures all of that for me. 💫 A personal highlight in 2017 was attending such a wonderful workshop day in London. What a joy it was to meet Katie after following her and being so inspired by her online presence. In person she is such a joy. Encouraging, kind, generous and genuinely interested. Her empathy for others and her open nature makes her workshops so much more than flower arranging. That day started me on a journey of self-discovery, gave me a stronger urge to follow this flower dream and a willingness to view investment in myself and my dreams as worthwhile. If anyone reading is hesitating to invest in themselves in this way; don’t ... you won’t regret it! 💫 Dried flowers from this day are treasured momentos... a few remain on my bedside table along with the little desert rock that Katie gave me. Her meditation has become part of my practice and I so treasure the lovely friendships I made on that special day. Thanks to them and other friends who encouraged me to continue following my dream and apply for Katie’s amazingly generous offer of a workshop scholarship. Whoever is lucky enough to be selected will have such a marvellous opportunity to learn, grow and connect with like minded people. 💫 I hope 2018 will bring some similarly wonderful experiences for me and for all my friends, flowery ones and others. Let’s all hold fast to our precious dreams and live in hope. Happy New Year and may 2018 bring you joy! 💫 @ponderosa_and_thyme #ponderosaworkshop Venue: The Studio on Columbia Road Photographer: Leslie Lau @lesley_lau_ Host: John Moore @7over1 Workshop Team: Mark Davis @mrmarkdavis #ponderosascholarship #ponderosaworkshop #grace #gratitude #self-discovery #followyourdreams #lifelonglearning #blessings #inspirational #makingdreamsareality #friendship # love #community #underthefloralspell #inspiredbypetals

- It’s Christmas Eve, calm descends and the flurry is done for today. I’m sitting by the tree, the lights are twinkling and I am lost in my dream. A dream filled with flowers, friendship, creativity, learning, rest and meditation. This beautiful photograph from @ivyandgoldphotography captures such a dream. My hope would be to attend the Chateau de Gudanes workshop in France with Katie Davis. I can’t think of anything more special than combining my spiritual home of France with my love of flowers and having the opportunity to experience a Ponderosa and Thyme Workshop. I have much to thank Katie for already. Her reaching out to the flower community with such generosity has been a real inspiration to me. So many live videos shared with people who are becoming friends. Katie’s bright smile, laughter and open-heart, along with her amazing teaching is such a tonic. She has made me start to believe that I have it in me to succeed; that I am enough. I hope that working on a scholarship application will help me find my way to discover the next steps in my floral journey. If I am lucky enough to be chosen for the scholarship I think it could be a real turning point. Thank you Katie for this chance and good luck to all who dream. @ivyandgoldphotography @ponderosa_and_thyme #ponderosascholarship @chateaudegudanes #France #grace #gratitude #courage #community #meditation #self-discovery

- Still busy getting ready, baking, flower fettling presents and listening to wonderful Katie @ponderosa_and_thyme #ponderosaworkshop who is such an inspiration. She has the power to create the most wonderful calm, meditative creative space. I lit my lovely candle from @_sebastianconrad @flowersfromthefarm (this week too) to help the mood. The lovely pine smells and Katie’s gentle music reminded me to slow down and breathe. When I do it I think the work benefits. Thanks to Bea my daughter for the video footage too. C for Christmas and for this wonderful flower Community. I am thankful. ❤️
