- My friend @blakejorgenson just launched a new website which I have linked in my bio, but it is blakejorgenson.com. It is beautiful, diverse and it loads really fast so it's worth checking out! Blake snagged this photo near his home in Canada with our friends at @blackcomb_helicopters I think I will wander north of the border again this winter to shoot with Blake if he'll have me. He tends to miss zero shots and makes most look quite exceptional. Thanks @redbull for facilitating these moments. #givesyouwings

- Anyone catch that moonrise on first of the year? My friend Jimmy Lee Cook visited @squawalpine with his girl, his snowboard and his rescued dog, Chopper. The three of them found their own way to many of our local gems and always came home with images that reminded me of just how much beauty we are surrounded by, even on drearier days. The way they lived each day richly made me think of one of my favorite quotes: "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." - Ferris Bueller 📷 @airlandseafilms

- Legendary filmmaker Bruce Brown passed away yesterday at age 80. Many know him from Endless Summer and others, like myself, were inspired by On Any Sunday. I grew up watching On Any Sunday over and over every weekend that I would visit my father. We would go ride motorcycles and I would hear Bruce's narrative voice in my mind as I rode. Every hill climb in my youth was compared to the Widowmaker segment. On Any Sunday was 14 years old by the time I first rode a motorcycle, but it withstood the test of time and was not out done for many more years, if ever. One thing that Bruce did that allowed him to leave his own chapter in the history books was documenting things/ sports that nobody else ever had. Bruce was the pioneer of surf films and of motorcycle films and he did it in a way that accurately depicted the culture and values of the champions of the sport as well as the average enthusiasts. I am lucky to have spent an afternoon with Bruce at his ranch last year. He was a fascinating and unfiltered legend of a man. My thoughts are with the Brown family today.
