#COMPASSION & #LOVE are the engrained traits of a true believer. “IF” you are striving to be like Christ & applying His teachings to your life, then these traits become your natural instinct. As natural as breathing your next breath.

Exercising these traits on a case by case basis is not optional. Instead, it is the ENTIRE basis of your belief, & the heart of the God of Christianity that we say we serve.

Here’s a simple test - Read Luke 10:29-37…Replace, the man who was robbed, with those we are calling “illegal immigrants”, like the mother & child mentioned in this post. Then replace the robber with “ICE, & those barking orders to separate children from their families at our borders”. If Jesus was telling this parable today, would America be the Priest who crossed the street to avoid his hurting neighbor, the Levite who did the same, or the Samaritan who bandaged him up, brought him to an inn & took care of him?

After Jesus said to Love God with all of your heart, soul & mind, and to Love your neighbor as yourself, the lawyer Jesus was speaking to asked, “Well who is my neighbor”. Jesus was the slickest at answering questions with questions. He answered as if talking to a child, “Which of these do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?
