- Summer in essence should never be fussy or overthought — I mean fanciful dinners are the antithesis of summer entertaining! A recent impromptu bbq with @anthropologie came together in a pinch using a wooden door that was found in my basement as our tabletop. With every element of the gathering, I wanted to create a light, breezy quality. Heart shaped rocks gathered on the beach kept our napkins from blowing away, and branches clipped from my yard were the sole floral element on the table. Instead of elaborate flowers, I opted for seasonal potted herbs to breath life onto the table. Tying everything together was a summery palette of blushy pink, crisp white and a pop of mint green. The look was undone yet beautiful, as the season ought to be. Two super simple recipes that were prepped in advance and BOOM — summer is served! #AnthroHome #summer #eyeswoon #entertaining Photographer: @aliweds

- There are certain dishes I vividly associate with a particular time and place. Fish tacos are one of them: to me, they’re pure Amagansett summer. Digging in always takes me back to the very first time I made them. It was my first season on Long Island’s East End and I was discovering a whole new landscape, and meeting new friends. On a sunny afternoon, a group of us piled into @leilanibishop’s kitchen, armed with a fish taco recipe she'd found in the New York Times. One of us prepped the cabbage, another diced the tomatoes, and I whipped up the black beans. From the outside, there was nothing particularly remarkable about the gathering, but as we chopped and chatted, I remember feeling it was the beginning of something truly special. Not much time had passed in this unfamiliar environment and already, I was feeling at home. It’s amazing how food can bring people together. And while this #CookBeautiful recipe is utterly different from the one we used that day, I’m reminded of the experience every time I make it. . Although this is an easy recipe, its components do require a good deal of prep work. So give yourself plenty of time — or better yet, make it with a friend or two! The star here is the pineapple salsa! 🌮🍍 Photo @johnny_miller_
