- The classic Turkish Get Up will never go out of style! - - - There is nothing more human than getting up and down off the floor with heavy weight.👌🏻 - - - Here is a way to add a different kind of load to your TGU! 🤯 - - - Using bands is an awesome way to add a reflexive stability challenge to just about any exercise! - - - If you’re comfortable with doing get ups, this probably looks easy. Think again! You’ll be amazed how tough it can be with a partner perturbing the band. - - - Neuro Tip 🧠 after you’ve evaluated your athletes cerebellum, try using the banded TGU. You can attach the band (or bands) to whatever joint needs work! Additional perturbance can be great to challenge the Cerebellum. Remember to reassess and see where your greatest results are. - - - Enjoy 🤓

- Saturday sessions!💥 Still learning to tame these mace movements with this little guy Onnit 7 lbs mace (seriously, these are harder then they look!😅) while adding a fun challenge, complexity, and brain candy with different lunge and foot positions via @zhealth_performance incredible movement template. Funny thing is I had some right hip pain playing/jumping around with the kids. After this, reassessed hip and ZERO pain. Too cool not to share! #movement #fitness #health #wellness #zhealth #zhealthperformance #onnit #getonnit #steelmace #painrelief #strength #strengthtraining

- Reactive single leg stabilization while training peripheral vision. Keep the eyes looking straight forward and don't look at the ball until you see it in your peripheral vision. Then track the ball with the eyes, catch it, and return the throw without losing your balance. Nothing like training multiple skills at once!! - When I’m laughing with my friends on the #Jiu-jitsu mat, tossing each other around like rag dolls and doing all sorts of closeup wrestling games, I think about stuff like this. How much the experience of #Bjj has made me comfortable in ways I honestly don’t know I could get otherwise. Around people, with people, making friends anywhere in the world with that common thread. I know great academies like @alliancejiujitsueastlake that cater specifically to troops with PTSD and offer them an outlet and a supportive environment - huge things to integrating back into the world after trauma. I’m no expert on trauma therapy. I know that we have a sport that fosters teamsmanship, and when managed well a progressive way to make you comfortable (not fearful) in a variety of situations, even placing formerly scary ones in the field of “fun”. . . #Repost @zhealth_performance with @get_repost ・・・ How many different INPUTS do you assess and train to help your clients in pain? - Funny how my home gym has changed since Z-Health.. as has my training! Brock string and multiple strength bands hanging from my squat rack. My workout today consisted of squats, single arm swings, vision training, balance drills, and band resisted joint mobility drills. Feeling better than ever, despite this stupid cast on my arm! #zhealth #zhealthperformance #vision #balance #proprioception #kettlebells #squats #barbell #brainfirst #nervoussystem #performance #strength #flagstaffaz

- “Exercise shouldn’t be decided by the clock. It should be decided by our bodies.”- @themovproject (great page to check out).. ▫️ How often are you using time or calories burned to determine if a workout was “good enough”?.. ▫️ How often are you using specified reps/sets to determine how much your body can train?.. ▫️ Maybe “health” has less to do with external factors (watches, fitbits, programs) and more to do really hearing what our bodies need. And then learning to trust it.. ▫️ I would encourage you to try a movement practice exempt from needing to train for reps, sets, time or calories. Instead fuel it with gratitude, exploration, intention and attention 💕 #befriendyourbody

- Dr Sam Berne is a doctor of optometry and offers a unique form of physical therapy for the eyes. This holistic method helps children with a variety of developmental delays from autism to Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Berne uses primitive reflex therapy, movement therapy, vision therapy, light/color therapy and more in his practice. My words are in parentheses. 👁 “When we go to the eye doctor he or she is taking a measurement where you read the eyechart at 20 feet and measurement is just called 20/20 which means seeing a 1/3 inch letter at 20 feet. That’s actually your eyesight. It’s a static measurement. 👁 But vision is dynamic, it’s how the eyes and the brain process information and how our body takes that information and uses it. Vision is much more dynamic than eyesight and encompasses a lot more than reading an eye chart at 20 feet. (conventional eye care assesses acuity and eye health and that’s where it ends). But that’s an incomplete measurement of what our visual system can do. 👁 In all my studies of the various somatic studies, we talk about the difference between sensations and emotion. Sensation is a first order experience and with emotion sometimes will you bring the story along and doing that can sometimes act as a trigger. So one of the things I’ve learned is that if I stay with body sensation, basically it’s just energy, and if I open to the sensation of the energy opens up and there’s energy flow. (Our vision is one important way we assess and assign meaning to the world around us). 👁 10% of seeing is in the eyeball and 90% is behind the eyes. (Vision is a brain event) In other words basically we want to blame faulty vision on the deteriorating eyeball but it’s (important to consider) the programming we tell our eyes, whether it’s our mind our brain our posture, our movement (it’s the relationship between eyesight and vision- it’s visual processing- it’s life history-it’s the whole picture) 👁 The eyes are one of the most unrealized tissues in the body...why do we not include our eyes in the conversation about healing ourselves? Why is this a part of our body where we have skepticism, we say I can heal everything else but I can’t heal my eyes?

- I proudly display the words "voo-doo trickster" after Nancy (video) saw how much her gait has improved since our first assessment and requested to sign my cast! The last video is from our very first session and the other video is from our most recent session. By focusing on sensory inputs to the brain via vision, balance, and proprioceptive training, we can make movement smoother and more efficient. When movement is more efficient, strength, balance, flexibility, and performance are enhanced. Thanks for your hard work Nancy and for allowing me to post this video!! Keep up the awesome work 💪💪💪 #zhealth #zhealthperformance #brainfirst #strength #vision #proprioception #balance #performance #mobility #movebetter #hypo2trainwithus #hypo2strong #hypo2 #flagstaffaz

- What are you telling yourself and your clients about pain? Are you still teaching them anatomy and how their mechanical problems are causing their discomfort? Are you still labelling them with diagnoses and dysfunctions that sound scary and “unfixable”? As a community, it’s time to evolve. #intelligentpersonaltraining #therapie #training #neuropro #zhealth #personaltraining #neuroperformance #manuelletherapie #kinesiotape #gehirnfunktion #nervenbahnen #youhavetoknow

- Improving recovery (link in bio of full tutorial video).. ▫️ Here, I’m utilizing “palming” as a reset in between swings.. ▫️ Our eyes have muscles that also need to be stretched, relaxed, and trained (just like the rest of the muscles in the body). Too much of one thing (ex. Straining our eyes by looking at bright screens) is never a good thing, and has the potential to jeopardize the quality of our movements, health and happiness.. ▫️ Check out the full tutorial in my bio 🙌🏽💕 #visiontraining #visualreset
