- Weigh day! I’m so confused at my body at the minute! I’ve been exercising more and last week put on 3.5lbs despite being good. - 🔽HOW TO CONTROL YOUR HUNGER?🔽 ⠀⠀ Many people find it hard to control their hunger when they are trying to lose weight, and always are hungry. Although point of IIFYM is its flexibility, you still have to be in calorie deficit to lose fat. So, when you are cutting, there are some things that can help you control hunger and not feel hungry all the time. 👇 ⠀⠀ 1⃣ Prioritize protein – Eating protein over fats and carbs is important, especially when cutting, for preserving your muscle. Eat around 0.9-1.1g/lb of bodyweight. 🍗 ⠀⠀ 2⃣ Drink coffee – For most people, including me, coffee is a great way to suppress hunger, and is also great as a pre-workout. ☕ ⠀⠀ 3⃣ Eat moe fiber – Foods that are high in fibre will make you feel full for a longer period of time. That includes some veggies such as broccoli, sweet potato, whole wheat food, and many more. 🍎 ⠀⠀ 4⃣ Eat some fats – All right, I understand that if you are counting calories you have limited amount of fats and carbs, but don’t go too low with it. Eating SOME fats will help you feel full. 🧀 ⠀⠀ 5⃣ Prioritize lifting weights over cardio. Not only that lifting weight will help you burn more calories in a long run (if you want to know more about it, scroll through my page and find a post where I talked more about it), but cardio will make you feel hungrier. 🐒 ⠀⠀ 6⃣ Get enough sleep – I’m not going to talk about importance of getting enough hours of sleep here because I already did several times. Not getting enough sleep can mess up your hunger as well, which makes sense when you think about it. I eat under 1,500 calories a day, workout 4-5 days a week for an hour to 90 minutes (cardio intensive), do not drink alcohol, and have a splurge meal once every two weeks. I feel like an entirely different person than who I was 9 months ago. When I look at the person on the left I don’t even recognize her.
