- I have read that leadership starts as a child. That you can tell that one will grow into a leader at a young age. That was not the case with me. As a child and even a teenager I felt lost and was in no place to lead anyone.  I felt like my friends had direction. They knew what college they wanted to go to, what they wanted to do in life and had an idea of what the future would look like. I did not know any of this. In fact I was that girl that "just was". I didn't make many lasting impressions. Not that I was forgettable at all, just not remarkable. I went to an average city school, worked an average part time job and like the average teenager I attended dances, parties and sipped trendy coffee at a mediocre corner shop. Had you asked anyone that knew me during this average time in my life what my future would look like you would find that they would be challenged to answer. I didn't have hobbies, a glowing grade point average or a plan of any kind. By all accounts my life should have continued on an average course. As I grew and learned I eventually found my path and began to lea, but, this leadership was certainly not something I have had forever. If your business is in an "average" stage that may just be a step on the path you are on. If you look to the leaders in our industry and want to be part of that community you certainly can. There are many out there that are looking to learn and be inspired from your passion, experience and knowledge. A history of leadership dating back to kindergarten is certainly not required. What is required is confidence. You have to be confident to share all that you have without fear of being put out of business or of being replaced. You have to have an open heart and be willing to help build others up. You are not leading in order to build a following for yourself you are leading in order to help others break through barriers and thrive in thier businesses. During the #intrigueacrossamerica Workshop Tour I am sharing everything from my floral techniques to buisness strategy and I am sharing it all with a smile and open heart. Join me on tour and become part of this growing floral community. Photo: @sweet.rakoteet

- Friday is here and I am so excited because we are headed out of town for the weekend! #funfactfriday - with the peak wedding season being Spring through Fall, I often have to take vacations through the Winter months. Not gonna lie, I kinda enjoy this aspect of my schedule. What is better than being able to escape the cold weather and grey skies?! But I am always on the look out for fun new places to visit in warmer climates. This fun Havana inspired shoot I did in January has Cuba calling my name, but do you guys have any suggestions for my next vacation? _______________________________________________________ #wovenblooms #indyflorist #indianapolisflorist #travelingflorist #mynextbigadventure
