- I've heard lots of people express their fear of yoga not being able "to do" any of the poses, but the beautiful thing about yoga and its asana (physical) practice is that if you are alive and can breath you are already doing it. There are these stronger asanas that we strive towards, maybe partly due to the ego. For whatever reason it is, we get so caught up in trying to perfect each posture that we forget it's not really about the physical practice. It's what we take into the practice, our values we build, our strength and our determination; it's the fears that we face, the moments we fall and get back up, and it's the things we let go of only to leave us with our strong foundation. So we let go of expectations (societal & our own) and we fully experience each moment and start to learn more about who we are. In this photo I probably got a few seconds of hang time, and then my feet were falling back to the mat (against the wall for precautionary measures πŸ˜‹). For me, this constant diligent practice of working into an inversion is practice into facing fears and even though there have been several fall outs, I practice to keep pushing. We practice to push our limits & to grow. β€’βˆ† If something isn't scary, is it worth doing? βˆ†β€’
