- Right... . So it’s been far too long. After going through switching jobs, an injury, bouts of illness but most of all, being a lazy arse!!! It’s time to get back on the wagon. . Sorted out a weight I and took some progress starting pictures...definitely not a fan or anywhere near happy with my current look but you gotta start somewhere!!! Apologies to those trying to eat but this is now gonna be my thing!! . I want to remain accountable and motivated to change and see proper progress. - Pumped on my second jacked pack! I feel like on a lot of fitness Instagram's there isn't enough real shit. I've been working through some shoulder pain which is tough with a physical job and trying to work upper body at the gym as well as I can. It has been hard not being able to go hard on chest or shoulders but I'm doing what I can. The last couple days have brought some cold like symptoms as well so that adds another element to my mood and regular routine. It's been pretty demotivating to say the least, but I'm alive and these things are miniscule in all reality. It's not always easy having your consistent routine shaken up by unexpected issues, but staying positive is key to staying motivated and looking ahead!

- So I’ve officially hit the number 24... stepping into this year single, stronger, independent happier, got many conclusions from last year and will definitely learn from them to develop more. Promised myself to do Personal Training and I am going to start in March. Everything is in your hand people, stay strong and consequent with your decisions. Would like to make more, so let us know what you would like to see! __________________ Shain is a good friend and an amazing PT aide. We often pick each others brains throughout the day to expand our own knowledge and understanding. So a while back Shain inquired about how to make more single planar exercises multiplanar, especially in closed kinetic chain. __________________ Lower extremity closed chain exercises are exercises in which your legs are moving when in contact with the ground. We also preform high level movements in multiple planes of motion. This is especially true with the athletes we work with. Moving in a single plane is rarely how we operate and we need to be able to move within and between the various planes of motion. __________________ We need to be able to take our athlete through the proper rehab and get to this point in order to better prepare them for the forces and movements they will need to preform and control to prevent new or re-injury. Not doing so is a disservice. ___________________ Here, Shain is demonstrating a multiplanar step up through the transverse plane. Not only are we working the hip and knee flexors and extensors, we are working on the hip abd and rotators. We do see some dynamic valgus on the eccentric phase, noted when the knee collapses inward. A common mechanism for knee injury, highlighting the importance of working on applying your foundation strength into skilled movements we see in sports. I'm honestly feeling like a bag of old, squishy potatoes...you know the kind that start to sprout those little stumps because they have been in the cabinet too long? πŸ˜‚ β€’ I was so amped first thing this morning, took my preworkout and then got hit with the mensies like no other, but that did not stop me from making it a worthwhile workout! πŸ’ͺ🏼 β€’ It's important to celebrate our little daily victories. Sometimes they are substantial and sometimes they are as simple as appreciating how we pushed through despite feeling like your insides are being mangled every 2 minutes. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ β€’ If you are a guy reading this, appreciate the fact that you don't have to deal with this BS monthly.
