- Listening to your body is important! Last weekend I turned the wrong way when I was cleaning and have been feeling some discomfort in my knee. It was soooooo hard for me this week to rest and not push play! But I had to remind myself that if I jumped back in too quick, I might have to rest for even longer! Today I decided to test the waters with a little cardio core and so far so good 🤞🙏. Remember to listen to your body! There is good pain(pushing your body within its limits), and bad pain (injury). I wanted and needed a new car because the one I had was unreliable and not safe to drive, and I got a new one. I wanted a career that would afford me to save and have money left over, and I got one. Sometimes we're so quickly to move on to the next thing we want without stopping to be grateful for what we have and accomplished. There was a time when you wish you had what you do now. It does everything it can to stay on and I desperately try to SHUT IT OFF.  Sometimes I think about my upcoming day, sometimes I think about all the things I forgot to do, but most often I just stress about my biggest fear: not being good enough.  I think, “I’m not a good enough partner.  I’m not a good enough sister.  I’m not a good enough friend…coach, athlete, daughter, citizen.” The inner dialogue goes on and on and I come up with a million reasons why I don’t ever measure up.  Turns out, I am really good at being mean to myself. * Something I always say to my athletes when they are struggling with a movement or frustrated with a performance is, “be kind to yourself.” Well, I realized I should have been taking my own advice.  By slowly learning to be kind to myself I’ve embarked on a wild journey of self-love.  And best of all, I’M SLEEPING BETTER! * In addition to reshaping my opinions about myself, I’m also practicing some new bedtime habits that have been SO HELPFUL.  If you struggle to sleep, I highly recommend trying them out. 1. Eye mask.  By keeping out distracting light, the mask helps me get at least two more hours of sleep. 2. A real clock! No more using my phone to check the time and getting tempted to check my email or start making to-do lists.  Once I’m in my room the phone goes away. 3.
