- Say hello to a very lovely part of my way to work in all the different seasons. 💕
So love to have this view every day and ride right through a forest. 🌳 I also get to ride across a river and I’m passing lovely fields. (see pics)
Being close to nature first thing in the morning by feeling and smelling it, gives me the best start to the day. 👌 I have the time to fully wake up and train my senses for the day.
It also has the advantage that it brings a bigger gap between me and work when riding home. This adds a lot to my mental health. 🧘♀️ I also learned that weather isn’t something that can influence my mood. 😁
With investing in good rain clothes (see pic), I started to cherish all the different moods of Mother Nature. I feel more connected and weather changes feel a lot more normal to me now. It might sound funny, but studies show that weather really influences lots of peoples moods. With biking one seriously strengthens the positive mind. 😍
But also check out these hard facts:
My way to work is a 6km distance. Means 12 km in total.
With taking my bike 🚲, I roughly save 1,72 kg of CO2 each day.
With working in school I had 190 work days last year, which means I saved 327 kg of CO2 in total. What a great bonus for our environment. ☘️
Additionallyally I burn 300 extra calories each day and improve my fitness on a regular basis.🚴🏻♀️
The University of Glasgow informs that people can reduce their mortality rate by 41% with every day bike trips. #mdrza (a German initiative for riding a bike to work in 2018) state that employees are 2 days less sick and have a BMI of 24 instead of 26 when riding a car.
💵 Also the money I earn directly goes into my pocket: I don’t have to spend money on gas, insurance or expensive car maintenance. A good bike or e-bike, is cheap compared to any car. (see former post on my used bike) I also reduce long and short term health costs.
For longer distances I would make the investment of a super e-bike as I wouldn t want to miss this every day experience.
Do you ride your bike to work?
- What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another🌲
