- ‘It’s ok to change the strategy in the middle of war’.’ • I’ll be the first person to encourage anyone taking up a regular fitness routine into their weekly schedule. I’m also an advocate for listening to your gut feeling. • If you’re in a super stressful period in your life, sleep deprived, low on energy or just plain sick, exercising might be the one thing dragging you further in the downward spiral. • In essence exercise is a stressor for your body (hello adaptation and progress!), but adding a stressor to an already stressed out body or low immune system can literally accumulate the symptoms your already experiencing. • My advice? Not sure if you’re just in a whingy mood or actually not up for a training session? At least drag yourself to the gym, give it a fair go and you’ll find out soon enough if it’s a wise thing to complete your sesh or not! #changestrategy #whenneeded #itsok

- REST DAY. We all deserve them. Aisha is the best thing that has happened to me and my family in a long time. But I must admit, it has been hard work. My family has really supported me and I can't thank them enough for this. I have amazing people at Boot Room, they let me take Aisha to work. - #hiking on #lanzarote . I wish I could go back and do that today. My legs don't feel that well and I am afraid they need a #restday . Sometimes it's better to #rest. Listen to your body. Usually, you still can do #activerecovery such as hiking, walking, biking, swimming, easy jogging. But don't do that with high intensity and #listentoyourbody. I think hiking a vulcan could even be to much for me today or I should choose a small one . I really do not like rest days at all, but I also learned that my body really needs them. You definitely should not stay in you comfort zone 24/7 but you also should not get out of it 24/7 (also not 24/6 or 2/7, you get the point). I think being able to interpret the messages from their body correctly is one of the things that make a good runner a very good runner. I found local gym, which I am very happy with, but I miss my hot yoga studio so much. Today on my rest day I decided to do my yoga flow and stretch at “home” and my muscles feel so much better.
