- Day 2 of the Choose Love Calendar: Baby Grows In 2016 alone, more than a thousand women gave birth in Greek refugee camps. This is no place to have to raise a child – but clothing like this can at least keep newborns warm through the cold winter nights. This week, all the items you buy at #Chooselove will be matched by Vodafone Foundation. So just £8 can buy warm, durable clothes for 6 newborn babies. Buy a gift that matters today through the link in our bio. Or by visiting us at 18 Broadwick Street, Soho. Photo: @aliceaedy

- Today Parliament debated Clause 53 of the EU Withdrawal Bill. This motion has garnered cross party support and has the potential to save children’s lives. The amendment acts to clarify and reform family reunification procedures post-Brexit, which would allow vulnerable children to be brought to safety and their families in the UK not just from Europe, but directly from conflict zones where their lives could be in danger. We welcome this Amendment and hope with all our hearts it will pass, helping the world’s most vulnerable children. Please tell your MP to support this Amendment, New Clause 53 in the Withdrawal Bill by writing to them.

- Repost from @nunanina89 who is on the ground in Palestine voicing the lives of the forgotten children.  Give her a follow for more truth from the West Bank. Your support is important. Balata, the biggest refugee camp in the West Bank, by the smiles on their faces you would never imagine the conditions under which they live. Imagine the land you were born on being stolen from under your feet, the children are our future it is our job to nurture them not torture them. - "International human rights day" 🤔 If you think "wow, Gramsci looks angry today" it's because I am. Look, I am just a cat so sometimes I am not very up to date on current events. Today I learned that a lot of European countries, like the Netherlands and Germany, have rated Afghanistan as a safe country which means that refugees can be deported back. Now it only took me a little while to find out that that is outragous and wrong. And I am a cat. Why do human politicians put peoples' lifes at risk by sending them there? And that on "international human rights day"! I don't really go outside but if you do I suggest you join the nearest protest asap to show the politicians of your country that you disagree! Make them listen! Say something about this! #refugeerights #afghanistan #notsafe #protest #refugeeswelcome #sayitloud #sayitclear #refugeesarewelcomehere

- ✊🏻✊🏿Its #humanrightsday today. I thought I’d leave a beautiful open letter to the Australian people, written by Walid Zazai: Congratulations 🎊 🌈 🌈 ❤ ❤ from manus to all my lovely friends. Today Australia celebrates an amazing victory. Few weeks ago people from all walks of life come together to celebrate in which Australian population believes that the LGBTIQ+ community should have access to their right to marry and today they have achieved that. Same sex marriage is is LEGAL now in Australia. Yayyy 😍😍😍✊✊ A reality that until recently was only a dream. On Manus Island, we celebrate with Australia and are pleased that our allies and friends finally are having their human rights recognised. This incredible result shows us that although the Australian Government is misguided and hurtful, the majority of Australians stand for love, peace and equality. This is now evident to the entire world in the results of this achievement. To the queer community, we are sorry that you have had your existence and right to love debated and used as political currency. We know how hurtful these words can be, as we too have been dehumanised and debated. We know that it is the cruel minority that has the loudest voice during these times, but that there are still millions of kind, loving and compassionate individuals around Australia. We know that you believe that everyone should have the right to love anyone, regardless of who they are. Just like our allies in the Queer community, the men on Manus have been hoping and praying for our freedom and rights to be realised for over four years. It has been over 6weeks since the Australian Government evacuated the Manus Island Detention Centre, washing their hands of any responsibility for the human rights violations that continue to be committed here. For 1st October until 24th, we have been left without food, water, sanitation, medication and security. And after that we have been forcibly and violently moved to new centres near town where we have many problems.
