- After hours of having my face pricked and cauterized, what I was looking forward to was some steak. But for some reason, we landed into having a chinese dinner. Jade wonton soup (for me), spare ribs rice (for kuya and ate), side order of pork rib with black bean sauce, steamed spinach dumpling with shrimp, vermicelli roll with bbq pork, and baked bean with bbq pork. - I’ve not done a marathon in over four years, since injuring myself doing two ultramarathons in one week ( likely due to outdated nutrition advice). I’ve been pretty much permanently injured since, one way or another. I’ve not eaten anything whatsoever in over 24 hours, in the previous 24 I’d eaten only two thin slices of tri-tip, half a small tub of cottage cheese,and a bar of Lilly’s chocolate. My intent in 2017 was to get a marathon done, today I set out to do a fasted one. Grabbed a small bottle of water about half way through, I started with a fat coffee and a pack of Amped ketones in a glass of water. This one took place up and down climbs, on trails, and through river beds, plus a little road work. Here’s what I didn’t do, keep checking, I checked twice, once at the furthest most part from the start (I’d not measured the route, just guesstimated), and once at what I though was the end, to find that I still had a mile to go. No breaks, no breathers, you could use this approach to weight loss (stop weighing yourself, plays tricks with your mind and gut health), or to your business/investments. I did it in what I wear every day, no prep, no training, simply show up and go. PS. - Keto Friendly Cabbage Casserole 1/4 Large cabbage 1 egg 250 g cheese (preferably cheddar or white cheese) 50 g labne cheese 250 g ground meat 1 onion 3 tsp olive oil 10 wallnuts 1. Break each wallnut into 4 pieces. 2. Dice the onion into small pieces and stir fry it until they get translucent with 3 tsp of olive oil. 3. Divide the cabbage into large chunks and boil it till it gets soft. 3. Put the ground meat into the same frying pan with the onions and fry them until they get golden brown. Put the wallnuts in and mix them. 4. After the cabbages are boiled, drain the water and cut them into 3 cm pieces. Mix it with grated cheese, labne and egg. 5. Put one layer of the cabbage mixture into an oven friendly circular 3 cm deep pot. Then put the meat mixture into the pot as a layer. Put the cabbage mixture as the top layer. 6. Put the pot into a pre-heated oven of 200°C for 40 minutes. 7. Take the pot outside and put the excess cheddar as a thin layer on top of the pot. 8. Take the pot outside the oven after 10 minutes. 9. - I’ve been MIA bc I’ve fallen off the #ketowagon. Thanksgiving thru New Years is just really hard for me. My focus now is just not gaining weight. I have def gained about 5 lbs since thanksgiving.
