- It wouldn’t be another program complete without a final mirror selfie... . Over the last 8 weeks I was pretty quiet on social media when it came to what program I was doing. It doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it, or that I wasn’t still showing up. For some reason I just didn’t feel into documenting it like I have in the past. So I didn’t. . I didn’t take before pictures, measurements or weight, and I couldn’t tell you what I weigh now. I didn’t follow an eating plan - in fact I’ve been basically eating and drinking whatever I want (aside from a short 3 week liver detox where I cut sugar and alcohol). This has been a season I am embracing. A season of freedom. A season of fun. . I worked out 4 times a week and took every single rest day. Maybe it shows, maybe I’m just maintaining, but honestly, for once in my life I’m not obsessing over it. And you know what? It feels freaking amazing to LIVE, indulge, enjoy. At the same time I always know when my body needs a break from the indulgence and I clean it back up. I trust myself. . I know I always say this, about every program I have done, but this came at the PERFECT time. I needed a program that fit the freedom and flexibility I was craving with the option to take 3 rest days a week. Yes, 3 rest days a week 🙌🏼. . Our worth and happiness is not defined by how hard we work out, how many times a week we work out, what the number on the scale says. It’s not about restriction or eating clean all the time and it’s certainly not based in perfection. Happiness is found in caring for your body and mind in all aspects of life. Yes that includes physical fitness and intuitive eating, but it also includes letting yourself be free. Free to laugh, to connect with others, freedom to enjoy drinks and eat the wings and ranch (my secret obsession) at 2 am on a Saturday 😉. . I can say with conviction, for the first time in a long time (maybe ever), I feel balanced right now. And when I swing too far toward indulgence I bring myself right back without the guilt or shame. There will be seasons of life where I tighten the reins, but this has been a season of work within freedom. I never thought I’d get here. It feels pretty darn good.
