- Super simple crispy baked chicken breasts tonight, alongside steamed broccoli and crispy roasted sweet potato. 🥦 Have you guys ever tried Tahini drizzled over your veggies? If not, you must!!! Tahini is ground sesame seeds. It’s the consistency of peanut butter. DELICIOUS way to incorporate healthy fats! @traderjoes has a great organic tahini that we love! #healthy #dairyfree #healthyeating #paleo #glutenfree #realfood #foodporn #fuelyoursoul #foodie #foodblogger #recipeshare #eatclean #bbg #recipe #cleaneating #yummy #healthybreakfast #myownrecipe #delicious #groceries #whatieat #mealprep #groceryhaul #recipe #eatwell

- Cheat Meal? 🍔🥪🍪🍩? • Great post by @nourish_naturally • Spicy Sashimi Bowl 🤤 Last week I was doing an interview & I was asked “what’s your favourite cheat meal?” And my honest answer was “I don’t have one.” And it got me thinking...why don’t I have a cheat meal? 🤔 I thought about it a lot and I realised it’s because I don’t see eating a certain meal or food as “cheating”. What I choose to eat I love & there aren’t foods I don’t eat that I wish I did. ☺️ What I’m getting at is, I think mindset is really important when it comes to eating. Healthy eating & nourishing our bodies is important, but it’s also important to enjoy foods and not feel bad about it when you do, or view it as cheating or breaking the rules. If we set too many rules when it comes to our eating, it can become damaging and actually have the opposite effect, making your to want those foods more because of the strict rules you’ve set. 😯 So instead, try not to view certain foods as “bad” or certain meals as “cheating” and just enjoy them when you have them; no feeling bad about it; no regrets. Yes nourish yourself but also enjoy yourself 🙌🏼 Eating one chocolate bar won’t make you unhealthy just like one salad won’t make you healthy. ⚡️Remember food is meant to nourish you, but it’s also meant to be enjoyed. So next time it comes to your “cheat” meal or a food that may not be “super healthy”, don’t view it as cheating or breaking the rules, just enjoy it ☺️✌🏼 This Spicy Sashimi Bowl is my all time favourite meal 😄 So I want to ask you guys is, what’s your favourite meal? And not your favourite “cheat” meal, just your favourite meal?✌🏼 . . . #health #healthybody #healthymind #dinner #healthyfood #freshfood #protein #sushi #sashimi #eat #fitness #fitfood #fit #fitnessmotivation #eattogrow #macro #grainfree #lowcarb #cheatmeal #healthymeal #healthyeating #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #eatclean #eatcleantraindirty #guthealth #digestion

- Breakfast this morning, and OH! What an amazing #keto breakfast it is! We got really specific with the kitchen team at the retreat because there are a few dietary restrictions to contend with. Our food needs to be gluten free, low carb, and low chem. It’s resulted in a LOT of omelets, and dagnabbit - you CAN OD on omelet. I worked with the organizers to come up with a few options to satisfy everybody’s needs - and combined with the coconut oil I blended into my coffee this morning, I am feeling scrumpdiddlyumptious! Fried eggs + fresh avocado + buttery green beans + sautéed mushrooms + sautéed spinach + sesame oil for drizzling + salt = UNMATCHED KETO BRAINPOWER! All the good fats, tons of nutrients, non-starchy veggies, YUM YUM YUM!!! I am ready to ROCK. And full without feeling gross!

- Why You Don’t Need Carbs. 60 Second Science. . . 🔹Have you ever wondered how human beings can get by on diets like the Ketogenic diet where carbohydrates are restricted to almost zero? Of the three macronutrients, only proteins and fats are essential. Human beings can actually survive on a diet with zero dietary carbohydrates. . . 🔹The reason for this is a process called gluconeogenesis where our bodies can create glucose (the simplest form of carbohydrates) from other things. It is because of this that we are able to maintain blood glucose levels in times of need. . . 🔹Blood glucose levels drop during exercise because our muscles soak up the sugar in the blood to use for energy. We rely on our liver to replenish this glucose to keep us going. When we have low blood sugar it can cause us to become light headed, dizzy or even pass out. The process of gluconeogenesis in our liver regulates blood sugar so that this doesn’t happen during times of low blood sugar. . . 🔹I am not saying that you should never eat carbohydrates. I eat carbohydrates every day, lots of them in fact, but you do not physiologically have a need for dietary carbs. Carbs are not inherently bad but I do believe that as a society we eat too many. I am a huge proponent of low carb diets for weight loss. Cutting out carbs tends to lead toward less total total calorie intake and for weight loss, that is key. People tend to see results quickly on low carb diets because of how human physiology utilizes them. Quick success is great for new dieters because it keeps them excited and hungry for more. . . www.mealprepmanual.com
