- I’ve been asked to tell the story of how YIREH came to be several times this week, so I thought I would share it with you as well! . In 2013 I moved to Bali, Indonesia to learn the Indonesian language and submerse myself in the culture along with 4 other friends. At that time I had been making and selling jewelry to support my travels and philanthropic work. So I had a small amount of money I wanted to invest in a product line and start some sort of business. . When I first got there I thought it would be jewelry, then I moved onto bikinis, and then purses but wasn’t really passionate about any of them. One day a man came up to Davin (who is now my husband) while we were walking down the street. They had known each other previously. They said Hello, then the man looked over at me and said, “Do you want to make T-shirt?” I looked back at him and said, “Hmm I’m not sure, maybe?” . He then Invited me to his house for tea and I met his entire family and they educated me on their once thriving seamstress business. At that moment I knew I wanted to invest in this family. So I drew up my first design, The Pantai Short, and a simple tank top and spent the next six months sourcing fabrics for the shorts, learning the cultural basics of running a business in Indonesia, and making a LOT of Pantai Shorts in about 32 prints (wow). . I brought them back to Hawai’i, made a website, and everything sold out within about a month. I was shocked! So I got my booty in gear, kept designing, and have yet to stop. . I now work with two ethical manufacturers and am still extremely close with Made (the original man that came up to me), and his family. YIREH actually helped them purchase their first car! It’s been a fun, chaotic, and extremely educational journey. Pictured here are today’s Pantai Shorts available on ShopYireh.com and some older photos of us making the first batch of shorts, and attending one of their family ceremonies. ✨✨ Thanks for letting me share.

- You're never fully dressed without a smile 😄 . I used to love Annie when I was a kid. I wanted her curls, her fiery red hair, and her positive attitude! I wanted to be her essentially. So I got a perm when I was 11. . It did not go well. Perms are not really a good idea for us fine haired girls and they definitely didn't hold. I have chased those curls for so long and hated these locks the whole time. . I've finally made peace with my beautiful hair and decided to enjoy it exactly as it is. My products are pampering my hair every time I shower and it's like a therapy session with every wash 😉 . If you want this beautiful feeling too, drop a ME in the comments!

- After more than six weeks in America we’re HOME! 🏡 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ll forever treasure the memories that @hodge_b and I have made together exploring 11 states and too many cities to count! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here are just a few of the many highlights I’ll never forget: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Watching the sun set over LA from Griffith Observatory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Riding bikes up and down San Francisco’s steep hills and across the Golden Gate Bridge to the quaint seaside town of Sausalito. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Driving down Highway 1 with the wide open Pacific Ocean in full view. 🌊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Watching the sun set over the Grand Canyon and seeing the first light peak over its walls at sunrise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Opening our window at 11pm to see the mountains of Zion National Park collecting snow. (Naturally, I squealed. Seeing snow fall never gets old for this Aussie). 🏔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A very white Christmas ice skating in Chicago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Freezing our butts off in -20 degrees Celsius at 6am in Chicago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Walking through Central Park in the snow. Surreal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Watching the sun set over New York City from across the river in Williamsburg. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Putting our bodies on the line (😂) trekking around Washington D.C while the wind burnt our legs to see The White House, Congress and more... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hearing locals from Chicago, New York and Washington D.C say “I can’t remember it EVER being THIS COLD.” ❄️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The all round friendliness of people in the south where “ya’ll” and “I got you” were every other word. 😜 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lots of laughter and seafood with our good friends @taylabull_ @joshuabull_ in charming Charleston. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The endless jazz music that filled the streets of New Orleans. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exploring the Houston Space Center & NASA! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plus countless other special experiences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ PS this year I’m going to: 1. See the sunrise and sunset more often in my own city. 2. Explore more of Australia! Travelling so much of America and hearing locals say “I’ve never travelled that much of my own country” has inspired me to see more of Australia. Our next adventure will be a whole lot closer to home. 🏡

- Today’s post is brought to you by a desperate cry for coffee. Don’t mind me over here just asking my mother to pick up my coffee mug so I can kiss it. But, hear me out. When you’re sick, you miss all the little things you used to do while you were healthy- like brushing your hair (🤷🏻‍♀️) and drinking coffee to the point of dehydration and realizing you’ve made a huge mistake. (I am my mother’s daughter.) So, today was pretty monumental for me as FINALLY feeling better meant I had my first coffee in over two weeks. I may or may not have gotten a little teary-eyed about it, and I’m hoping the person who may or may not have witnessed it doesn't call me out in the comments. 😳 But, getting emotional over a cup of coffee is totally normal, right? ...right...? #ineedcoffeewithmyoxygen

- Every wall I build has a story💕 this one was a wall of scraps from left over projects and builds.
