- Do you even Brussels, Sprout?! I meannnnnnnnnnnn - y'all all know I'm an asparagus queen (deep down I love that weird pee smell cause I know my body is workin' - ha I'm a nutrition freak) but I think Brussels have recently stolen first place for fave veggie. WHY, MAUDE?! Cause they fuggzin delicious, that's why, dude. But on the realz, b sprouts are PACKED with nutrients and beneficial health properties and YOU SHOULD EAT THEM! What's so great about em? #1 in my book - FIBER (I 😍 fiber). The fiber found in cruciferous (cuz they grow in crosses, ya!) and other veggies/plants not only aides our digestion and feeds our probiotic gut buddies, but also is one of our body's only mechanisms for flushing excess cholesterol! Fiber binds to cholesterol containing bile acids and flushes them in our poo! Yay for HEART PROTECTION! B sprouts also contain tons of sulfurous compounds which have been shown to have fabulous protective properties against cancer and other chronic diseases through their inflammation reducing qualities. Another cool nutrient found in BSs is glucosinolate - a highly protective compound known to actually KILL cancer cells! ON TOP OF ALL THIS GOODNESS (and a lot more but my fingers hurt) Brussels have like a kajillion nutrients including vitamin k (250% RDA in just one cup, y'all!), vitamin C (129%), folate, manganese, tons of minerals, high protein content relative to other plants, B vitamins, and the list goes on. At just 56 kcals a cup, I munch on these babies for snackage almost every day! DM for some yummy recipes like these TWO I roasted up today. PS yes, those are grapes and walnuts up in there! - I know I posted brussel sprouts last night, but this was amazing! I Did almost the same thing in the airfryer except I used horseradish cheddar cheese this time! Holy crap was it good! And it couldn't be easier. I'm a complete carnivore and normally I would be talking about how amazing these lamb chops were but brussel sprouts and horseradish cheddar cheese opened my eyes!! #lamb #lambofgod #meat #brusselsprouts #horseradish #cheddarcheese #cheeseygoodness #foodtography #foodporn #foodpics #foodie #tuesday 🤯🤯🤯🤯
