- I had two tutorials in a row today. We discussed regions as a concept and I love how broadly we can discuss things in this year's geography tutorials compared to last year, when we were just given one paper to "discuss". This year we get two papers about the same topic/concept/theme with VERY different perspectives (usually the first one is from the point of view of physical geography, whereas the second one is more from the point of view of human geography)

- I finished my essay 2,5 days before it's due!! I like getting things done before the deadline and always try to schedule myself some free time for the last minute bcz who knows if something interesting is going to happen? What if you get an invitation to a surprise party or your friend who you haven't seen in ages decides to call you?? I wouldn't want to say I'm too busy writing an essay.... so this is what I do: •I start compiling information about the topic of the essay/assignment/whatever VERY soon, almost immediately after I get to know what the task is. •Then I do a lot of research and compile all the interesting links and some key paragraphs from each text into a word document. That is done even within a very busy week. •You might want to start writing some if the first paragraphs or arguments. •The next step: go have fun with your friends and have a great time bcz you are (usually) ahead of others at this point. •Finally, when other ppl start getting worried about the deadline coming closer (let's say a week before for a 2000 word essay or something like that) start working on you essay again and you'll notice how much you have already done! Has worked for me every time so far!

- This year feels like a mix between studying corporate and comparative law, biology, geology and business studies. I will have finished my first essay of the year soon, and have to start preparing for the class test which will be on the same day. I'm also very grateful for my summer job bcz it taught me discipline and how to work 9-5 (basically) and this year I've needed that more than I would have thought! But I've also learned to be gentle to myself and take breaks, like this walk yesterday🌊

- Ok so this is what I got myself from Edinburgh! As some of you might know, I try to study Modern Greek by myself bcz it is such a cool and mindblowig language! And one of the most efficient ways to learn is to read texts and try to figure out how the language works, and usually one the best ways to do that is by buying a poem collection in a language you already master but which has the parallel text in your target language. I've used that method before and I recommend it to everyone, even for those who are just beginners. #moderngreek #greek #poetry #studying #linguistics #languages #studygram #poems

- I told my geography tutor that I really like philosophy so he lent me this after our first tutorial (☺️)where we discussed space and scale and how rescaling often plays a role in the creation of "new" objects and spaces of (environmental) governance. This book discusses which facts are "created" by humans (institutional facts, such as paper money and being a chairman of an association) and which are the so called "brute facts" that exist no matter what humans would say about them.
