- Love this post from @sherylsandberg today! Jelly beans, Harry Potter, loved ones who protect us from afar, Sheryl Sandberg... we love it all!! #Repost @sherylsandberg ・・・ The first Harry Potter book came out 20 years ago today. Dave loved the books. He read them out loud to our children and even attempted different voices for some of the characters. When I think of #HarryPotter, I can still see Dave sitting in the rocking chair with one of our kids cuddled on his lap. I’m also inspired by J.K. Rowling’s strength and resilience. She got through unemployment, living on welfare, and losing her mom to multiple sclerosis just six months after she started writing Harry Potter. Death became a theme of her writing, like the passing of Harry's parents and Voldemort's obsession with immortality. Yet she - like her characters - always found light in the darkness. One of my favorite Dumbledore quotes is, “To have been loved so deeply, even though the person who loved us is gone, will give us some protection forever." J.K. Rowlings’ words helped me be resilient long before I ever knew I’d need to be and continue to give my family peace. On this 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, I'm thankful to J.K. Rowling for filling the world with so much magic, hope, and love – and for making me look at jelly beans in a whole new way. ✨ #HarryPotter20
