- Today Libby (and the rest of the world in her mind) celebrated 18 years of smiles, laughs, sass and not holding anything back no matter who is around. When Libby was born it was a surprise to my parents that she was Down syndrome but the shock wasn't really evident to us older 3 sisters and I'm not sure we really knew she was any different than the rest of babies. What I do know is that the last 18 years has taught us SO much about patience, slowing down, laughing and being real. Today I went to Libby's special classroom where the whole school all came in their lunch break to celebrate with pizza, cupcake decorating and to sing Happy Birthday to her. I might have cried as senior boys came in with balloons and candy they brought for her and wished her Happy Birthday. THE SWEETEST. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ By the way she is still gladly accepting birthday cards because we will be celebrating for a few weeks. Happy Golden Birthday Libbyโค๏ธ
