- At the CARI Christmas lunch with my mom, sister and adorable niece Gia. Christmas has officially begun! πŸŽ„ It's always a fun day out - hosted by Alan Hughes, music by the Hallelujah Gospel Choir, Mary Byrne & Kayleigh Cullinan - but the real reason for gathering & fundraising was highlighted this year by the powerful short film 'Did You Hear Me Crying?' written and directed by Marilyn O'Connor. 1 in 5 children in Ireland are affected by sexual abuse. CARI have a waiting list of 100 people and the CARI helpline - 1890 92 4567 - has responded to approximately 1,300 phone calls a year. If you're in Ireland you can text THERAPY to 50300 to donate €2. Every cent is needed to ensure children affected by the trauma of sexual abuse receive the therapy they desperately need. #CARI πŸ–€ Photo: Brian McEvoy

- Mugshot. Remember this quote? When I was 19 I was feeling a bit wobbly and I met this guy who was an athlete and a pro at reeling off positive self-help inspiring quotes to train his mind, & convince himself he could be everything he wanted to be. The power of the mind is so strong that when you tell it something over and over again, it takes that thought and makes it happen. When you turn negative into positive it's amazing what you can achieve. When I was writing PS I LOVE YOU I had to add this phrase that he often said to me, "Shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." Who cares if you fail? And what is failure anyway? Who cares? Not me. I took his words and gave them to Gerry, who shared them with Holly, and she aimed for the moon. When I saw this mug at a school fair I told my daughter the story and she of course used her savings to buy it for her dad. Oh yes, that athlete became my boyfriend, who became my husband, who became a daddy. Art imitates life, imitates art, imitates life..... #PSILoveYou ❀️

- I can't believe it's been 10 years since Samantha Who? aired! I loved working on this show, which I created with the brilliant Don Todd for ABC. When ABC contacted me to create a show in a similar vein to my novels, I tried to figure out how I could take my theme of sad/humorous self-discovery to a weekly show and so having my character Samantha literally lose her identity after a car incident and being forced to learn who she is each week became the heart of the story. Well earned Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for Christina Applegate, an Emmy win for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Jean Smart and the People's Choice Award for Favourite New Series in 2007, the talented and hilarious Melissa McCarthy, Kevin Dunn, Barry Watson, Jennifer Esposito, Tim Russ were a dream cast and made this a career highlight for me. Trivia: Jean Smart's character "Regina" was based on my mom's hilarious sense of humour and the fascination Kevin Dunn "Howard" had with chickens was inspired by an author tour in Petaluma, famous for its chickens! πŸ˜† An amazing experience. ⭐️ #SamanthaWho?

- It started with cake and ended with cake. In the middle was a pretty satisfying filling; Frankfurt, Bonn, Duisburg & Essen. Thanks to everyone who turned out for my events today, I really appreciate it. Highlights were visiting my publishers in Fischer, the stunning Bonn bookstore that used to be a cinema, the first lit.RUHR event which was the first event I've ever done with sign language onstage in both English and German, and...cake. Long day, happy author. X #SoKlingtDeinHerz
