- Thanksgiving! Here’s a Spatchcock Turkey from years ago. I drew this at the very point when I made myself an Artist - and by that I mean someone who makes art every damn day. There was dredging up of all my learning and struggle to figure out new processes and frustration with my tools and stubborn, stubborn consistency. I say this a lot, but I learned pretty late in life how practice leads to progress over time. Seems so obvious, but I’d never committed to anything long enough; if I wasn’t good, I’d just stop. My whole life changed, partly because of this practice. It is a grounding thing: when I wonder where my work fits in, who I’m making it for, if it matters that anyone looks at it and how much they like it or whether or not they do at all. 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃 Tell me what you’re cookin’ today!

- Light in Darkness is one of my favorite themes to explore this time of year - I think it’s why many of our holidays are so important to us, why we feel both sad and joyful at the same time. Nature’s cycles help us feel grounded in the world, don’t you think? In times when it feels like it’s getting darker and darker (you’re not imagining it), little things are growing, little flames are burning. 🌲 I’m selling these cards in Portland at @pomariusnursery on 11/25 at their first ever Holiday Bazaar! These guys have impeccable taste, and I’m stoked to be included! Please come see me from 10am to 4pm. ❤️ And if you miss it, you can always purchase these from my website.
