Just so you know, they're usually the ones who tell you "I am not a Guru." 😝My pet peeve - Blaming someone's psychology when you don't know enough neurology to help them. It's more common than most people realize. Unfortunately this kind of unethical behavior can really trap people and make them feel hopeless. It makes them feel like they have a psychological problem that is causing them the pain they feel and that "the Guru" is the only person that knows how to help them, but until they behave differently their special technique (one technique = red flag!🚩) will not work🤔. Not cool! Behaviors are a large part of getting healthy, for sure! The way a person is behaving can create a window into their neurology offering clues on how they can be helped. That's neurology☝🏻. The brain is the governing system. However, if you know enough about how neurology works you never even have to have a uncomfortable conversation with a person about their behavior. At TMP we take extensive health histories with our clients every 4 months! Targeted exercise becomes our delivery system to help people feel and move better! It's common for our clients to tell us things like they feel more mental clarity, their mood is enhanced, their more motivated, empowered etc. every exercise has a purpose! If what you're doing isn't working, don't let someone blame your behavior. Someone else has the tools to help you. 💪🏻🤓

- Did you know that up to 70% of the information needed for movement comes from our vision? The brain needs information from the body and its surroundings to make a good movement program. If the information is of poor quality then your movement will be ineffective and maybe be why you can perform well or have pain. So poor vision skills have a huge impact on your daily movement ability. Are you taking care of yours? One very important vision skill is the ability to maintain visual fixation while the body is moving. So when the head moves one way the eyes move the opposite way thus preserving the image on the center of the visual field. Since slight head movement is present all the time this reflex is very important for the information going from the eyes to the brain used for good movement planning. If your eyes are unstable, then so are you! This is a huge threat to the brain and if the brain isn’t happy then you are more likely struggle with poor flexibility, poor movement and perhaps pain. Furthermore this reflex is used to control your spine stability and core strength. And a little fun fact: spine stability and core strength is primarily reflexively controlled. So doing a lot of voluntary stability and core exercises may not help you effectively. Actually I find all the core exercises hilarious because they want you to “feel” and voluntarily control an area that from nature’s site primarily works reflexively. Why not strengthen the reflex instead? On the picture is still images and training on that reflex also called the Vestibulo-Ocular-Reflex. If you have similar problem then maybe consider that your eyes may be holding you back.
