Ruben, youth pastor, left Honduras after being gunned down by Cachiro sicarios in Tocoa. They ordered him to kill a family and refused. He was nearly killed again when the same gunmen shot up the clinic he was recovering in. Yet somehow he survived. He had gone back to Honduras after living without documents in West Palm, FL for nearly two decades. Ruben missed his tiny mom (mi mamita, he says). I ask what he thought of Honduras when he came back: "I quickly realized I didn't leave Honduras behind when I left all those years ago. It was Honduras that'd abandoned me." #righttogrowold
