Instagram photo by originalprincessjasIve been asked numerous times "isn't a vegan diet expensive? i cant afford it!"
Not at all! in fact if you look at your shopping receipt the most expensive items are most often the meats and dairy products.
While i personally prefer organic & nongmo foods here i demonstrate just how simple and low cost veganism can be for the family on a budget.
everything here is from a can! yupp you heard right! regular canned food that can be stored for a long time on your shelf, bought at a low cost and you most likely have many already in your pantry!
I made a simple "veggie casserole" for my family tonight.
i did rinse off all the vegetables after draining to rid them of a lot of that added sodium.
combined them in a baking dish (use any veggies you like. here i used cream corn, peas, carrots, black eye peas and lima beans) i topped with some GF french fried onions from @aldiusa
where i got all this food.
and i chilled some canned pineapple rings.
lemonade and fresh water were the beverages.
baked at 350F for 45min
So no it doesnt have to be expensive. the goal is to have compassion in your heart for all Earthlings and live accordingly.
love shouldnt break the bank!
but it should bust out and spill all over the world, and your table! #vegan #veganrecipes #veganfood #foodporn #veganfoodshare #veganfoodporn #veganlifestyle #veganism #budget #mealplan #cleaneating #healthy #wellness #crueltyfree #plantbased #vegansofig #vegansofinstagram #vegetables #casserole #dinner #family #simple #cheap #aldi
