- I'll be honest, after a few weeks, I might have skipped a #yoga session (only one) because I was just so discouraged going into it. The 90 minutes was daunting enough, but as someone who had no experience in it, it was a very difficult routine to get into. As I said in an earlier post, my dislike for the routine was apparently poisoning my efforts because when I'd rant to my #fitnessprofessional or #fitnesscoach friends about my growing hatred, they would all say that I was only compounding my problems and it wouldn't get any easier if I always started with that negative mindset. So sometime in the 2nd month, it was nice outside and I figured I'd try the routine out on the porch...just to get out of the basement studio. NIGHT and DAY difference. Why? Not quite sure...perhaps it has to do with looking up and seeing blue skies and fluffy clouds where the ambient noises are bird chirping away and not wrenches and a drill press with the water heater chugging along in the background. In no time I found myself finished with the moving asanas (the hardest part) and into the balance work you see above. However, truth be told, the deck was not the ideal spot. It's uneven and a bit narrow and sometime half in sun and half shade. Definitely a good start, but a better location would need to be found. ...or made. Some of it was just getting older, but a lot of it was lazy life habits that graduate school had allowed to creep in. So I decided to dive into the infomercially-approved world of #beachbody and #P90X. These images are a reflective chronicle I put together (turning the camera on myself as the subject) after finishing the program. #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlossmotivation #fitnessjourney #fitnessmotivation
