- Mysore Intensive begins on Monday with Kristen @ladyk108 This self-practice intensive is designed to support you in establishing a home practice. Kristen will be circulating around the room to offer individualized support while each student leads themselves through their asana (and possibly meditation) practice. Traditionally this is how Ashtanga yoga is taught, and you are welcome to learn and practice the primary series or aspects of it. As well, if you have an established home practice that is not necessarily Ashtanga and would like the support of an instructor and practice amongst other yogis, this week long practice is a great opportunity to hone your skills amongst other community members. - Day 22 of #30daysofabundance – Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana (Extended hand to big toe pose) 1. From Tadasana, bring your left knee toward your belly. 2. Reach your left arm inside the thigh, cross it over the front ankle, and hold the outside of your left foot. If your hamstrings are tight, hold a strap looped around the left sole. 3. Firm the front thigh muscles of the standing leg, and press the outer thigh inward. 4. Inhale and extend the left leg forward. Straighten the knee as much as possible. Take 3 breaths and then, if you're steady, take the leg out to the side and turn your head to look in the opposite direction. Take 3 more breaths. Breathe steadily; breathing takes concentration, but it helps you balance. 5. then bring the leg back to center with an inhale, and lower the foot to the floor with an exhale. Repeat on the other side for the same length of time. - you can hold this pose longer by supporting the raised-leg foot on the top edge of a chair back (padded with a blanket).
