- Barely made it to Muscle in time to carve out enough space for an exercise mat next to the studio mirrors, between punching bags. Was tempted to bail and have a day off. - No matter how busy or crazy life gets, I still like to try to keep to my workout schedule / goal as best as I can because working out is the time that I carve out to take care of myself. I went to Yin Yoga because it happened to work best with my schedule, allowing me to be presentable and get to Art Masterpiece in time to volunteer in little DD's class. Although I was conflicted between wanting to be in Yin and wanting to have a workout that pushed me much more, yin was really what I needed. - DAY 2/60 of my favorite program ever πŸ€—πŸ’ƒπŸΌβœ¨ this is my fourth round doing this program and I'm super pumped because it's giving me my best result every time I've done it πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ˜‹ . . Every time I do this program I always get questions from people about how to get their legs toned like mine, and I seriously give it all to this program. It's so well-rounded and it has so many different workouts that you never get bored! Something I'm putting out there is that I'm really going to aim to stick to the meal plan this time around. As much as my Type A personality wants to push, push, push all the time, I can feel the need to take a rest day to recover, especially since I've increased the number of days and workouts per week, as well as adding muscle class into my workout routine. So I'm telling myself not to measure the value of my workout as 55 calories, but in the value of appreciating all that my muscles accomplished in yoga today. Slow flow, different challenges taken. Semi-new poses accomplished. - Seriously, all those years of committing to working out, even when it was busy, even when I didn't feel like going, even when I was tired ... It all paid off this morning when I completely lost it on the wet πŸ’§kitchen floor. Forgot my DS was doing a quick mop before we headed out to school. So there went the left leg sliding sideways in the opposite direction of my right leg - just like a harried cartoon character! πŸ™€Worried I'd stressed and popped my knees (thank you old injuries) but body parts are all intact. The only twinge of soreness is my right flute which bore the brunt of the impact. Wasn't sure I'd be up for even an all-level yoga class. Turns out not only was I up for an all-level yoga class after a sweaty Muscle session, it actually improved it. After practicing yoga for nearly 16 years, I thought I'd never be able to do side plank with my legs positioned in tree pose. Despite some severely fatigued muscles, I actually decided to try to get my legs into position anyway.
