- Balance. I’ve talked about it before and will talk about it loooads of times hereafter. Why? Because it’s that BALANCE people tend to mishandle or have a problem with finding - including myself. We live in a society where they tell us to “go all in”; “do it all or not at all”; to do it “black or white”/ “night or day”/ “yin or yang”, and all I keep wondering is... why can’t we do it just enough - or “lagom” as we say in Swedish? Maybe we are not supposed to live either “black” or “white”; maybe we should live in between, in the “grayscale”? And maybe we are not supposed to go ALL in; maybe we’re just supposed to do what’s best for ourselves in that moment. It’s not about doing it ALL or NOTHING at all, it’s about being able to live just... “enough” for the moment. - What about exercise and extra fries? They certainly sound very much alike, huh? And which one would you choose of the two of them?🤔 Let me tell you this - simply TAKE BOTH. Why don’t you go to the gym and hustle a workout and then pass by some burger place to buy yourself that burger with fries... actually, with extra fries. Cuz really, why not? THAT is BALANCE. Being able to have both parts in life; being able to treat yourself without feeling bad about yourself; and being able to treat yourself without feeling like you have failed. A balanced healthy lifestyle is what I’ve been striving for to find for years, and I’m taking small steps and getting better at finding it every single day. So next time? They're very deceitful. Look so easy. Mxim. Glute abductions. The reps are 30 each side. 4 sets. Stories I tell you.. Recently I have come in contact with more and more people who are in this habit of putting themselves down and pointing out their flaws and weaknesses. Its been so bad in fact I have actually put a negative self talk ban on @missfitz_studio 🙅🏼 Anyone talking down about themselves gets 50 burpees as punishment 😅 I came across a quote yesterday that I think a lot of us females could do with hearing- "You have been criticising yourself for years and it hasn't worked, try approving of yourself and see what happens. - It’s so much harder to congratulate yourself on your progress than it is to praise others. I think it’s because if you’re anything like me, you raise the bar at the same rate as you improve...expecting more of yourself as soon as every new “skill level” or target is achieved. I think I might try to take a moment and just revel in the delight of progress...because where I am now is freaking amazing. If you work consistently and you’re gradually progressing, make sure you find the time to reflect and get the satisfaction. Because THAT is what will motivate you to build even further. Knowing that you CAN. Don’t take your abilities for granted.
