- Hey guys! Here's a really nice video explaining exactly how to stretch those infamously pesky hip flexor muscles. Like the video explains, the hip flexors actions are to flex the hip, laterally rotate the femur, and ipsilaterally sidebend the spine- so you are going to do the OPPOSITE of all of that to stretch them properly 😊💪 - - If youre a runner, tight hip flexors can REALLY damage the knees and low back because of the way they pull on the pelvis and lumbar spine. - Don't confuse a 'stretchy band' with a Stretchband. One of these red bands is a highly elastic rubber band used to build muscle strength, usually as part of a rehab program following injury... the other is a high tension elastic band used to restore muscles back to their resting length after exercise. Both are important but for very different reasons. Not everyone needs rehab, but everyone needs good flexibility. Trust us, If you don't already have one, get a Lockeroom Stretchband.
