What if it wasn't about how much you ate but how slow you ate? There are so many ways to get creative with your eating and your cooking! When I cook I like to dance for my food as it marinates and steams on the stove. Sometimes if I'm feeling extra effervescent I will even sing for my food too. What this does is turns the scrumptious act of eating into an embodied ritual of fueling the senses. How do you like to acknowledge your food and the history it has had before making it to your table? I like to give thanks for all the elements and all the hands that touched my food before me. Studies show that mindfulness while eating generates a greater sense of well being. Mmm and a little secret: I LOVE eating in silence as taste is one of my favorite senses. In silence I close my eyes and indulge the gratification of savoring every single bite. It's so worth it. Happy Eating!
