- I've been a morning person nearly my whole life. I like waking up early and dedicating my days to working hard at things I love. I'm lucky that over the last few years I have been able to spend my time practicing and teaching yoga and scuba diving. In America I did a lot of yoga and even though it is one of my favorite things, when I left home over a year ago I was burnt out. When I arrived in Thailand I had to really concentrate on being still, taking rest days, and doing nothing. It was a struggle but I got better. Since coming to Indonesia my days are filled with yoga and scuba diving. It's awesome, I wouldn't change my life for anything. But it also gets long and tiring to wake up before 5am to practice and do 2 or 3 dives every day. About a month ago I started to feel the familiar aches and exhaustion in my body and mind that I had felt before leaving the US. Yoga asana was no longer a pleasure and diving was no longer as exciting. At first I fought my fatigue and tried to go on but then I decided to take a couple days off from practice and from diving. I stayed home for 2 days, never got out of my pajamas, and watched 2 seasons of the sopranos. After taking a little break I feel so much stronger, flexible, energized, and positive.
