- "IT'S NOT A MOMENT, IT'S A MOVEMENT" . . I have to admit as I'm writing this I'm hesitant to speak up about the horrific sexual assaults that i have endured. Even when they happened years ago, I never really opened up to anyone about what happened. But there comes a time.. a time where we stop being quiet, we stop acting like this is normal, we must do something about this epidemic ! Yes it is an #epidemic. Nearly every woman you know has been #assaulted, #harrased, or #raped. My question is, why are we not talking about the #WHO behind this. Half of the #perpetrators who did these disgusting acts are living their lives freely without regret or sorrow while the #victims are still #striving to #live every damn day of their lives. To this day I deal with #anxiety #depression #ptsd #bpd #addictions and much more due to the #trama ive faced. #HimThough needs to be a topic of conversation. We need to let our young #daughters, and sons know that #nomeansno ! And that if they have been #hurt, they need to #speakup ! . . I won't say much about what was done to me because it still hurts my heart immensely. But from being sexually assaulted by a family friend to having my #virginity ripped away from me, then being gang raped as a young adult I've had my fair share of hurting. And as I came across this hashtag, this #movement, something inside me told me to finally share my #story. We need to #stop being #quiet. Fuck anyone who doesnt want to hear it. I'm sorry to all the people #affected by #assault, I'm #sorry if nobody ever held you & told you It was going to be ok. I'm sorry that these posts are going to flood your brain with memories you hid far away, I'm sorry nobody ever listened, I'm sorry that person hurt you, and I'm sorry #society made it seem like it was your fault. You/we deserve better. We deserve to be healed and move on. But until then.... #metoo 😔 . . . How can we do more? Can everybody change their profile pictures on social media to me too❤️ to get this movement talked about even more. We will not be pushed aside ! Let's prevent sexual assault from ever happening again.
