- 6 months ago a quad stretch was the bane of my existence. Even holding onto a chair to do it sucked. If I'm going to be REALLY honest half the time I couldn't even swing my weaker left leg high enough behind me to grab my toes. I wasn't strong enough or flexible enough. Small non-scale victories my friends! I will say that taking a picture while doing a quad stretch and not holding onto a chair is something I might need to keep working on. πŸ˜‚ #progress

- #Life is indeed like a mountain. It is filled with rough terrain, obstacles, and challenges. It takes practice to climb. When standing at the bottom and looking up, it seems insurmountable. At times we cannot fathom ever reaching the top. We cannot just walk out our front door, seek out a mountain, and run up to the summit! We must develop a strategy, have faith and confidence, and come up with a plan. We must commit to the preparation it will take in order to attempt the climb. For example, we must take things we wouldn't otherwise think about into consideration, such as sea level and how it will affect our breathing. We must purchase the necessary equipment and practice in small increments at first. Perhaps in the beginning after much preparation, we only make it a quarter of the way to the top. Maybe during another attempt we make it halfway. And so on and so on. Life is very similar. It requires thinking about the unexpected and coming up with a plan to overcome. It takes preparation, commitment, and acquiring the tools necessary to reach our goals. The journey can be arduous, but there will be many small and large celebrations along the way - alongside some pitfalls. However, with repeated effort we will finally reach the summit. The view will be amazing and we will have a great sense of accomplishment. Accompanied by this feeling of euphoria, we will realize that reaching the summit is a beginning rather than an end. And that the journey was almost more important than the culmination of our efforts. For it created who we are and where we are headed next. May your journey be colorful, character building, full of growth and fantastic experiences and may you celebrate each step of the way.

I must say, I'm not a huge fan of the scale because I don't think it means as much as how I feel about myself and how my clothes are fitting. But I still wanted to share a few numbers with you all as I did lose both weight and inches! Over the 21 days, I lost 5 pounds (most likely of water and excess junk in my gut from poor nutritional habits), 2 inches off my waist AND hips, and 1 inch off both of my thighs! #progress #goals #beachbody #21DF #whosjoiningme?
