Instagram photo by meghan_clarkkThe other day at the gym I was talking to someone (rare for me 😂) and I mentioned that I was in bikini prep. This lead to them asking what had to be eaten diet wise for that. I briefly explained that I eat what I please as long as it fits into the amount of carbs, proteins, and fats I'm allotted each day. They assumed that that meant I eat nothing society would consider unhealthy and that I barely eat any carbs, especially not bread because bread "is bad for you and you can't lose fat if you eat bread". So I told this person that I love toast and I eat it everyday and then explained that any food can cause you to gain weight if you eat too much of it and it causes you to go over the amount of calories your body needs to sustain itself each day. Obviously I can't explain how IIFYM and nutrition work fully in the span of the 2 minutes so although they seemed to somewhat understand I know that that's not enough to get someone to fully "get it". The sad truth is that there are still so many distrustful media sources spouting BS nutrition/fitness advice to unsuspecting individuals who don't know any better. It truly makes me angry because everyone who wants to reach a goal deserves to know every true fact that will help them reach it & being lied to is only going to disappoint in the long run when said BS advice doesn't work, which is why a lot of the time I use this platform to educate and I ensure that I educate my clients and explain why we're doing what we're doing. If you have a platform and a voice to use and you have some sort of knowledge....I encourage you to use it. Because you never know who you're inspiring or who you're helping. #stopthebs2017 #itsmynewcampaignkay 😂
