- Real talk: I often joke that there's a fat girl living inside me and she's starving. Well today I fed that girl cheezies, pizza and MILK chocolate (which I don't even like but it was there so I ate it). I sometimes wonder if because I restrict my diet so much, it leads to these binge moments. I wish I could embrace the "eat everything in moderation" mantra like it's soooooo easy. But it's not for me. It's all or nothing. I seriously think I have an addiction to junk food because once I start eating it, I can't stop! I can't have just one cookie. If I have one, I eat the whole box. That's why I restrict myself in the first place! I forced myself to run tonight but I felt awful the entire time. My stomach was achy and cramping and at points I thought I might vomit. Lesson learned. Stifle the inner fat girl. Anyone else have the same struggle?

- Let me tell you the truth about these little beauts. These are my knees. They aren't the bees knees, nor are they even 100% functional knees, but they are mine to have and to hold until death do us part. Unless I want a really expensive knee surgery, then I could divorce these knees for newer, more flexible joints infused with vitality and strength. But ain't no body got money (or recovery time) for that, so here we are, in a love/hate relationship. I love them because I still have them and they work most of the time, but I hate them because they cause me pain and hinder my activities. Even when I eat an anti-inflammation diet, there's always a small degree of discomfort, especially when I fully bend them repeatedly. For example, I spend a weekend at June Lake and only do one little hike, go to the beach, and walk around town for a bit. And what happens? I come home with a swollen knee and need to wear a knee brace for 2 weeks because it hurts too badly not to - and this is my GOOD knee, the one that didn't have the operation a decade ago. . . . I'm telling you this because I struggle with traditional exercises and gym work outs, and I get discouraged thinking I'm limited and won't ever have a healthy, fit body. But this only limits me if I let it... instead of looking at it in a negative way, I'm chosing to see the silver lining and maintain an optimistic attitude. My knee gives me the opportunity to work out in unconventional ways--like swimming and doing yoga-- and I can still work on correcting my diastasis recti with bad knees. Even if I can't do squats, burpies (no burpies--how sad 😜😂), push ups, planks, jumping excercises, knee ups, etc, I can still be active, and that's something I'm really grateful for!
