- You aren’t tracking your calories accurately. You eyeball certain foods. You don’t account for things like a little bit of cheese, or some milk. Remember it all adds up. - You lack consistency. One week you’re motivated and the next you aren’t. You train three times in a week and eat healthy, then the next is a disaster. - You fail to do the simple things. Drink enough water. Get adequate sleep. Prepare your food. Three simple things that over time will mean solid progress. - You ‘don’t have time.’ Example - You could wake up 10 minutes earlier to make sure you have breakfast, but instead you hit snooze. - You aren’t honest with yourself. You may do some or even all of the above, yet you’ll lie to make yourself feel better. The only person you’re kidding is yourself. - #marcarmourpersonaltraining #larne #peakbodygym #healthandfitness #fitfam #fitness #transformation #nutrition #motivation #lifestyle #workout #training #gym #irishfitfam #fatloss #muscle #musclebuilding #diet #photoshoot #tan #camera

- In the new year we’ll all set some new goals. For some it may just be losing a stone, for others eating healthier. Several of you however will be considering a photo shoot. So here’s a quick post being as honest as I can about the good and bad sides to a shoot! - Cons! - Not maintainable - if you know you’re going to be standing in front of a camera, you’re going to work harder than ever. You’ll diet strict and do more cardio than usual to be in the best shape possible. Once the photo shoot is over, you must be willing to accept that you won’t always stay in that shape. - Expensive - a photo shoot can cost a lot of money. Consider hair, make up, tan, outfits and not to mention the price of the shoot. (My two shoots alone last year cost £350!) - Pros - New profile pic - self explanatory really, and the most important! - End goal to work towards - it will motivate you to work even harder in training and your diet as you know you’ll be standing in-front of the camera. - Sense of achievement - there’s nothing quite like looking at the end product and knowing the hard work you put in to get there. - Experience - it will give you a good understanding of nutrition and training and to learn more about your body and how it responds to certain stimulus. - My verdict is that as long as you’re willing to accept that you might not always look how you did for that day, a photo shoot is an excellent goal for the new year as long as it’s approached the correct way! If this is something you’ve been considering, make sure and get advice from someone experienced in that field! - #marcarmourpersonaltraining #larne #peakbodygym #healthandfitness #fitfam #fitness #transformation #nutrition #motivation #lifestyle #workout #training #gym #irishfitfam #fatloss #muscle #musclebuilding #diet #photoshoot #tan #camera

- This is @wickhamjj . JJ first came to me looking to lose some body fat and increase his fitness levels. He had suffered an injury through work, forcing him to leave his job and in turn gain a significant amount of weight. - JJ had originally tried losing some weight himself, in which he was successful to a certain extent; he had seriously restricted his calories and in turn lost a few stone, but caused a lot of damage in terms of fitness levels, energy levels and metabolism. He then hit a wall. - When we first started training, we had JJ increase his calories. This can be hard to understand for people trying to lose weight, but in order to get the body functioning properly, we needed to give it the right nutrients and gain some weight first. - As a coach, I always preach about consistency and patience, and JJ is a perfect example of how it pays off! Two years down the line, JJ is in the shape of his life, is fit, healthy, eats around 4000 calories a day, and insanely strong too! He had also just completed his level 3 Personal Trainer course, allowing him now to share his journey and motivate others to do the same! - I look forward to continuing working with JJ and watching him go from strength to strength! - #marcarmourpersonaltraining #larne #peakbodygym #healthandfitness #fitfam #fitness #transformation #nutrition #motivation #lifestyle #workout #training #gym #irishfitfam #fatloss #muscle #musclebuilding #diet

- - #throwbackthursday - Only back in April but seems like a lifetime ago! - One of a few big goals ticked off in 2017 💪 - 2017 has been one of the most challenging and exciting years I have had; but in this I really have found out who I am, as cliched as it sounds 😂🙈 - Set some goals for 2018; and as my good friend @marcarmourpersonaltraining said to me yesterday; 'If your goals don't scare you, then they aren't big enough' 👌 - #neilrenniepersonaltraining #pioneerperformance #malephysique #onlinecoaching #xfs #goals #newcastlepersonaltrainer #irishfitfam #nifma #larne #newcastleupontyne #doyou #gym #diet #balance #northeast #quayside #newcastle #newcastlefatloss #gym #pt

- So you seen yesterday what not to do. Now here’s just a few things to help get you going in the right direction in 2018! - Set some goals. Decide what it is you want to achieve in 2018. Set your sights high, but remember to be realistic as well. - Hire a coach. Do some research and invest in a coach that you know gets results. They can help you make a plan and break it down into manageable stages, making sure you’re always hitting targets and staying motivated. - Take things slowly. Begin implementing the necessary steps that you and your coach have planned out, but don’t jump in head first. Take things slow. Learn to walk before you run. - Have patience. Easily the most important thing when it comes to achieving your health and fitness goals. You’re not going to achieve the body of your dreams overnight. Ensure you’re ticking off the small boxes each day, and over time the progress will come. - #marcarmourpersonaltraining #larne #peakbodygym #healthandfitness #fitfam #fitness #transformation #nutrition #motivation #lifestyle #workout #training #gym #irishfitfam #fatloss #muscle #musclebuilding #diet

- As we approach 2018, you might be starting to think about your goals for the new year (or you might have gone completely off the bandwagon and lost motivation, but rest assured this time will come soon 🙈). We all get the health kick in January, but it can often be short lived. Here’s a few things not to do.... - A detox - the process of removing toxins from the body. You have organs in your body responsible for doing just that, so don’t waste money on some bullshit product sold by someone trying to make a bit of money. - A juice plus diet (or other liquid diets) - don’t be so stupid. How anyone can think swapping food for shakes is a good idea is beyond me. Again, this will be sold to you by some arsehole trying to make money. Also this does include the magic green teas and coffees 😝 - Cut out certain foods. Again no need. You can enjoy eating all sorts of food and still make progress in the gym. - Give up your social life. You don’t need to live like a hermit to get in shape. You can still go out at the weekend and do normal things! - Train every day for the first few weeks. This will only result in burning yourself out, losing motivation and probably stopping. - So if you’ve been thinking about maybe trying some of the above, please think again. Tomorrow I’m going to post a few things that we can all do in the new year to ensure we get off to a good start and continue to make progress as the year goes on. - #marcarmourpersonaltraining #larne #peakbodygym #healthandfitness #fitfam #fitness #transformation #nutrition #motivation #lifestyle #workout #training #gym #irishfitfam #fatloss #muscle #musclebuilding #diet
