Instagram photo by bbond_fitI have debated posting this A LOT. I never want my page to be considered inappropriate and do not want to be the typical "fitness" page that shows off my butt all the time (or focus on that aspect ever). However, when I saw the photo on the right, I was very proud of my progress. I had no clue my photo was being taken in either of these pictures. I have been focusing on gaining muscle and strength for a few years now and have extremely struggled with building my glutes. I know many girls are focused on growing their glutes (it is kind of a fad right now π), so I decided it would be positive to share my journey.
The photo on the left was taken in July 2013. The photo on the right was taken January 2017.
In 2013, I was swimming full time in college. My entire childhood up until 2015 consisted of swimming hours a day. It was amazing endurance training, but did not work to gain muscle mass (except maybe in my shoulders). The endurance cardio training paired with my genetics resulted in quite a flat bum.
Flash forward to now, I have been weight training for about 3 years on and off, but have been consistently focused on gaining glute muscle for the past year. I am ALWAYS focused on being happy with my body in all stages at all times, but one of my goals is to build more of an "hourglass" figure.
ALSO, the weight difference between these two photos is only around 5 pounds. You CAN work for the body you want. It is possible. JUST KEEP WORKING AND DO NOT GIVE UP. Transformations take TIME.
