- My daughter is 18 today. HOW OH HOW has this happened? In my head, I’m still 19, so this makes absolutely no sense. For parents, watching our children learn to sit up, crawl, walk, and acquire new skills is amazing. We watch them, we encourage them, we cheer for them. We never tell them, “Oh, you fell? Guess you’ll never learn to walk. Might as well give up now.” And yet, when we don’t immediately master new skills, we tell ourselves, you’ll never be any good at this. Better not to try. Just give up. WHY do we do this to ourselves? WHY don’t we show ourselves the same love and encouragement we show our kids? #growthmindset #entrepreneur #mompreneur #amwriting #freelancelife

- I was just asked about this, and thought I'd repost... --------------------------------------------------- #pressreleases can be an essential element of your #publicrelations strategy. These short, juicy documents can be used to detail your #product release, #event announcement and other #newsworthy items your company produces. Here are some tips for putting together a super compelling #pressrelease _______________________________ Write a catchy #headline - a good headline will grab the attention of a journalist looking for a good story. Get to the point in the first paragraph - journalists are busy people, which means most usually only fully read the first paragraph and scan the rest. Make sure it's grammatically correct - #proofread your press release before putting it out. Then proofread it again! Include a quote when possible - use a quote from someone in the company you are writing about or who knows about the product/event you are promoting. It'll give it that human element. Lastly - make sure it has contact information; website, social media platforms (at least one if you have), and name of the person to contact incase a journalist wants to know more. Remember to keep it to one page! ___________________________ Looking to have a press release done and not sure where to start? Drop me a message or send an email.
