- I heard the D&B producer Optical talking about music production. He has some interesting things to say like all digital eqs are rubbish 😱…even the most transparent ones. He uses eqs to cut frequencies but not add any has he hates what it does to the signal; potentially creating phasing issue. His main point which was worth considering is that you should be using your ears to find the best possible sounds first rather than putting half baked shit eating sounds in your mix and then trying to correct them. Your ear game is more than half the work. He also had some great stuff on how you should think about the science of what is happening to a speaker when sound is going through it. You should consider that when you edit audio; cut it to zero crossing points and make sure the waveform has a consistent natural flow. Dope stuff...it’s an art and a science. The weekend is on...I’m out. peace. 🤘🏾😫
