- Worked upper back, chest and did some shoulder work today. I applied the 21's drill ( 7 top range, 7 bottom range, 7 full reps) I love using this method to increase Time under tension effectively overloading/burning out the muscle. Really happy with how well i'm bringing up any weak links. I've really challenged myself to increase intensity with my overall accessory work and seen some major improvements this week both in upper and lower body strength ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐ŸŽ‰ To some extent this is fulfilling but it's still heavily depressing and painful for me not been able to pair up heavy squats and deadlifts at the moment in my lower half sessions (these form the foundation of my training) In respect to that I've had to really work extra hard and stay back these past few weeks doing copious amounts of self-myofascial release work for adductors, IT band, calve muscles and additional foot release work.I have also made a more conscious effort keeping my core muscles and glute muscles firing through planking and implementing the use of resistance bands in between sets. I always find the silver lining in any niggling injuries as it has always brought to my attention the little rocks and pebbles I wasn't paying attention to. I've always used every perceived set back as an excuse and great opportunity to challenge and better myself ๐Ÿ’ฏ It's really up to you to profit from every pain/setback and turn it into a positive comeback ๐Ÿ’ฏ. It's up to you to put in the active recovery work if you want to fuel your performance ๐Ÿ’ฏ You can make excuses or you can make results. - We hiked, beasted, and conquered the 4.5 mile beast, TRAIL CANYON FALLS on site today! ๐ŸŒŠโ›ฐ It was great preperation for the 9 mile monster we will face next week, MOUNT BALDY! ๐Ÿ—ปThe 100 degree weather was blistering, and we even caught a couple of people on their way back down who couldn't finish it due to the heat! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ The wildlife was in full swing, with tarantula webs and snake holes everywhere! I even a huge sand fly friggin bit me! This hike was super gnarly and I'm super proud of us for finishing strong.
