- July 2015👉May 2017 A bit of a spontaneous and long post for my account, but in true nature of #transformationtuesday I thought why not share my own fitness journey and where I currently am. • So this first picture was taken when I was 16. I was still competitively swimming, running and doing the Kayla Itsines BBG. I thought the more I exercised, the fitter I'd become. But I was so wrong. I didn't see food as fuel, but instead something that just had to be burnt off with exercise. I was scared of eating an excess in calories, fearing that this would make me put on weight. I was the biggest cardio bunny and thought that this was the way to achieve my health and fitness goals. I wanted to get "lean" and "toned" and was wondering why doing heaps of cardio wasn't giving me that shape. I was only to find out that doing cardio is definitely not the way, in fact it was weight training that allowed me to build muscle (while being vegan!!), creating the figure and mindset I was after. • This negativity around health and fitness continued until around this time last year, when I found @nikkiblackketter on YouTube. At first I was like, omg her legs and ass are huge, she's got way too much bulk. Then I realised that it was all muscle that was from years of hard work and dedication to her training. She was strong and that's what I wanted. I did become a little addicted to watching her videos, but I learnt so much about weight training and fitness in the process. I knew what I wanted and that to start lifting to become a stronger person both mentally towards food, and physically. • The start of July 2016 I started my first gym membership. For many girls the cardio machines are the first place to go, but for me the first thing I did was ask a PT how to set up a squat. For me, I had a goal and I was out to achieve it. I do get some curious people asking why I lift so heavy and why I use weights, and I just say it's what makes me feel best and makes me feel my strongest. Now I train 5-6 days a week, and I eat ~2300cal per day. I love my training and seeing results, and right now I couldn't be happier.

- So today I went shopping for a dress to wear for photos with my kids. (One of them is sleeping behind me in the dressing room 😘😴👶 Let me tell you, there is nothing like walking up to a rack and grabbing a size large, a *regular* large, and having it fit 🙌 Some of the dresses I tried on were even mediums 😱😱 Am I getting closer to being a regular sized person?! What is this!?!?? It was such an awesome feeling #nonscalevictory #dietbetnsv #bodypositive #progressnotperfection #transformation #weightlossjourney

✨✨✨✨✨ #loveyourbody #bodypositive #LoveAndRespectYourself #everyBODYisbeautiful #spreadlove #thereisnowrongwaytobeawoman #bopo

- It's taken me a long time to really consider myself worthy. I'm not completely there yet but I have grown a lot my first year of college and I hope to grow some more. I've said "smell you later" to a lot of people I considered "close" friends and made this year to bettering my mental health. Only a few made the cut to stick around with me long story short...I've finally realized that I matter. #youmatter #meechonmars #vsco #vscocam #photography #youmattermovement #bodypositive #bodypositivity #loveyourself #loveyourbody #sandiego #sandiegosunset

- Plus-Size Lingerie Models Who Are Bringing Sexy Back ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ✨@theashleygraham✨ isn't afraid to walk the talk. When the New York plus-size division of Ford closed in 2013, she linked forces with four full-figured models to open @aldawomen, a plus-size organization that aims to break down barriers and promote size diversity. "No man, no job, no friend is going to tell me who I am," she told Yahoo! "I am going to tell me who I am." ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ AshleyGraham is having one helluva year. In February 2015, the 28-year-old model, entrepreneur and activist made history by becoming the first “plus-size” beauty to be featured in an ad in Sports Illustrated‘s annual Swimsuit Issue. Months later, the size 16 model took her body-positive message to the stage, where she spoke at a sold out TEDxTalks in Valencia, Spain entitled “Plus-size? More Like My Size.” ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ “Dove’s global report on attitudes toward beauty actually did a survey with thousands of women in 10 different countries, and you know what the most striking result was?” she asked the audience. “That only 2% of women find themselves beautiful. 2%. We need to work together to redefine the global vision of beauty, and it starts with becoming your own role model.”⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Ashley’s newfound popularity as a role model couldn’t have come at a better time. During New York Fashion Week in September 2015, she debuted her “plus-size” lingerie collection for Canadian-based retailer @additionelle with a lineup of curvymodels who showed the industry that you don’t have to be a size 2 to be sexy. We happen to agree. AuthenticBeauty NoFilter ALDAWomen additionelle curvymodelsrock
