It seemed like forever ago that I fell in love with these mountains, and began to swoon over the lakes while turning my nose up at the ocean beaches. It took a while to find a reason to go. It took a while to formulate the dream. It is hard to leave a life that gives you no reason to want to leave. Unless you are me. A soul with insatiable curiosity and a deep thirst for continued pursuit of knowledge and growth. For this first year as I get to know this new city, I will be finally getting my licence in #Ayurveda A medical science that has long held my curiosity. When the surreal becomes real, one must step whole heartedly into the process. Give up the what ifs, give up the fear. Trust and walk forward. Truth: I miss this self-indulgent women- with her strong arms and monkey style lakeside self care. These days self-care is truly what helps me survive as the elements within - earth and water speak loudly as I grieve for simpler days. And the elements around us -water, earth, fire grieve through raging flames, earthquakes and storms - leaving so much destruction in there path, and reminding us external stability is temporary. The only thing I know we can do is stabilize ourselves as much as possible - with yoga, food, meditation, herbs - for when the shit storm comes.
