- Strong lats = strong lifts‼️ — Stronger SQUATS - the lats are providing a larger shelf for the barbell, as well as protect the spine and maintain an upright torso. Stronger BENCH PRESS – the lats helps in stabilizing the shoulder and they are be able to add a force at the bottom of the lift. Stronger DEADLIFT - the lats' main role is to stabilize the torso by pulling the arms in toward the body. There are two main types of lat movement - vertical and horizontal - and I do one of each type.
