- Here’s a great exercise for the upper back, particularly the rhomboids and traps (running between your shoulder blades) You want to get into position like a bent over row then just let your elbows flare out a little with your hand just a little wider. - Grateful today to be feeling healthy physically & more importantly healthy mentally. - . 2017 has been a year of things I wasn’t expecting. Injuries, job promotions which brought stress, mental fails, broken friendships, and everyday battles. Yet, I am grateful for all the these because it’s gotten me to where I am today. - . When I first started running, I honestly did it to lose weight. Finding shortly after that I just flat out, loved ... to ... run. I run now because of how it makes me {feel} ... Running makes me feel strong, confident, and overall happy from the inside out 🖤 I run too, because it helps me cope. As many of you know, I have a past off bad anxiety and depression. I was on depression meds for over 9 years but because of making healthier choices I’ve been med free for about 3 years now. Not even ashamed I’m telling you all this, because 1. You probably already knew this 🤷🏻‍♀️ and 2. Because I know so many of you battle with anxiety and depress too. - . But because I started running {and the power of relying on God 🖤) ... Running lead me to wanting to choose better nutrition to fuel my body. Which lead me to new found passion of weight training, and even a little bit of yoga. I run... because it makes me happy. - . Today, it felt good to be outside running. Breaking my old #5k PR with 27:12 🙌🏼- . Pretty shocked honestly because I took 12 weeks off completely of running due to a knee injury and listened to my Doc coming back into lower body impact/cardio. Been lifting heavier, and only doing treadmill runs the past few weeks and this happened. For that, I’m grateful because I’m running and lifting pain free 🖤- .
